America's Next Warplane

Just to put this back to the OP

This very clearly shows a two-person operation. I would guess it's like jets flown in 'Nam with a weapons specialist in the back seat to put weapons on target.

Question Longknife, do you have any specs about construction of this aircraft? The video gave some flight specifics, but what is it made out of and how survivable is it?

Cancel all war making purchases, bring home all military personnel, and close the Pentagon.

My dream.

I found this in a search. Hope it answers your questions.
Advanced High Performance Reconnaissance Light Aircraft (AHRLAC) - Airforce Technology

Didn't answer the main one I was wondering..................does the cockpit have a titanium bathtub around it? If it does, then yeah, it might work for CAS and other support missions.

But if it doesn't? I'd be very concerned about the survival of the pilots. That thing looks kinda flimsy and could possibly be taken out by 50 cal. fire.

Whether this model has a pilot of not...pilots are going bye bye. Pilots are more and more becoming a limiting factor in air combat.

This aircraft is not for air combat. You didn't watch the video either!
I was referring to aircraft and aircrew in the global sense. Fighter and attack aircraft technology is advancing to the point where aircrew and their life support requirements are becoming a hindrance.

Sorry! You are wrong. Drones have a limited purpose because you almost always need a human brain in that cockpit to tell you when things are going wrong that sensors won't tell you.
Give it time. Think back just 25 years. It's coming.

Yeah, I know. Twenty-five years ago I was assigned to a ship built in the late 1970s that was almost completely automated for the engineering spaces. After a few years they could not make it work and went back to the Mk1 Mod 0 sailor, also known as a "snipe". When they replaced that ship in the 1990s, guess what? They used the same system, because sailors were more reliable than computers.

It looks like an ultralight on steroids.

it says light payload--not huge...yes?..looks like it can't handle a heavy load
2 pilots makes it less worth the $$$$
doesn't look like it's worth it
