If California is the indicator for America then it's.

1) Greedy public unions controlling Government

2) Businesses/jobs leaving the country/state in droves.

3) Outrageous unemployment figures

4) Constant rising debt

5) High loss of personal freedoms

6) High taxes beyond citizen controls

7) High percentage of citizens controlled by the government..

8) Highest gas prices

9) The sunsets are breath taking

...Yup, coming to Your State Soon...not the sunsets though..

Our sunsets in TX are just fine, and we'll take the companies and their wealthy folks, they can keep the rest.

Kalifornia is an indicator of something alright. Everything looney and stupid almost always starts there.

Let the businesses leave, it opens space up for some homegrown businesses that have been stifled by super-multinational corporations.

Future?.....

(Most likely, the bipolar political reign will continue. DemReps will do what they have done.)

.....not very bright.

When you look at what Republicans have done to damage this country for the last 30 or 40 years, if we don't get them out of office, the future will be very dim. They have yet to accept responsibility for a single one of their many and endless catastrophic disasters, many of which, we've listed and documented over and over again. Listing them all would rival the size and scope of the Encyclopedia Britannia.

Looks like you woke up more than a little groggy this morning...:uhoh3:

Given that the population of california has more than doubled in the last 30+ years, one might expect some problems arising from that stupendous growth.

Is California's fate a harbinger of the fate the nation will have?

I doubt it.

California's particular set of problems are rather unique to California.

The problem for California and every other state, is that the day of the day laborer is over. We have machines to do all the simple work. You either have to be a manager, and there is getting to be less of them as the use of computers whittles down their numbers, or you have to be a craftsman or technician. There are jobs open for craftsmen and technicians all over the nation. In many companies, even as they are laying off production people, they are advertising for craftsmen and technicians.

For the American entering the workforce today, get an education, whether college or technical, or face a grim future.

No homegrown businesses can start there because they'd be buried under piles of costly regulations.

And this has to do with California...how? Republicans haven't really been in charge in the state for a long long time.
