If teenagers can sue the federal government over its insufficient action on climate change, why can’t a non-profit petition the U.S. Justice Department to require the DEA to stop issuing false and misleading information about weed?

Americans for Safe Access (ASA), represented pro bono by the law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, cites 25 alleged DEA violations against the Information Quality Act (IQA).

The law, AKA the Data Quality Act, requires federal agencies to draft guidelines that ensure the “quality, objectivity, utility and integrity of information” they distribute and to provide a mechanism to correct any misinformation.

In other words, stop using fake news to justify the existence of an already discredited agency.

As usual the public is fed lies upon lies about the truth of cannabis. It is another Government tactic fed to the American people so they can keep a nice flow of money coming in. Keeping this illegal spins a nice web of money from police departments all the way up to the private prisons.
All of which must keep quotas to receive funding .

This is also used as an excuse to illegally keep property , or money when these so called drug bust happens. Search and seizure of items are kept, and often auctioned off .

The sell it to the sheep using " Keep the children safe" , they sell the pitch of it using it is so dangerous.
When in reality booze is more dangerous and harmful than pot could ever be.

This is good -- but it will have little effect. Those interests which benefit from marijuana prohibition amount to an extremely powerful force to contend with. They include;

The Pharmaceutical Industry.
The Liquor Industry.
The Drug Testing Industry.
The Prison Industrial Complex.
The Law Enforcement Industrial Complex.
The Combined Police Unions & F.O.P.
The Legal Profession (legal pot will send thousands of lawyers back to chasing ambulances).
Various Religious Organizations
, along with millions of ordinary brainwashed prohibitionists who truly believe the "devil weed" is as addictive as heroin. Their ignorance influences their Congressional representatives.

These interests collectively represent an enormous sum of "lobbying" money which finds its way into Washington pockets. And that is what legalization advocates are up against.

I forgot to mention recovered alcoholics -- because there are no reformers like reformed drunks.

That's the image fed to the public, so we keep right on thinking that. if people are so doppy as the image of " pot heads" makes one wonder why the Government has had a patent on since 2003, while claiming there is no medicinal benefits of it. Once again they lie, and lied for profit. While filling the heads of people with this war on drug bs. Connect the dots President Regan and his hooplah for a wife started that Just say no bs... See how far down it trickles...............

There is no medical benefit from pot. However someone high can be convinced of anything. Pot is the placebo of kings and the faith healing of evangelists.

I don't expect you to read it, but it seems you are competing with some rather impressive credentials.

If there weren't any medicinal benefits there wouldn't be legalized medical pot which has been helping thousands of kids to stop having seizures.

The US Surgeon General Admits Science Is Real, Says Weed Has Medical Benefits
It's a sad commentary on the federal government's antiquated stance on drugs that even the most tepid administration statements in support of medical marijuana are hailed as bold new thinking. US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy elicited such a response whenhe said on national television this week that—brace yourself—there is "some preliminary data showing that for certain medical conditions and symptoms that marijuana can be helpful."
