The homicide rate in the US is currently around 10 times the rate on most civilised countries....I wonder how high it would have to get before Americans would start to worry.
There have been something like three major mass murders in the US in the past fortnight - I suspect there will be more to come.

What I believe is not imporant here - these are points that have been proven in the US in half a dozen very high level studies.
The studies suggest that people who commit suicide using a gun actually die - many of those who use a knife or drugs live.
Also, it seems guns may provide a motivation for people suffering depression...they know they can do it, and quickly.

I say possibly because your statement did not list which countries you meant. Nor did it contain a link.
I can link some studies here, but I know one or two for which you will need to either buy a download or buy a book. One of the studies is 250 pages, so it's not a quick read.
