American Interests

Absolutely true. This is becasue we tried to do with capitalism what socialism is now attempting to do through the EU. Capitalism was working fine until we over extended and also instituted socialist policy for use in our domestic issues throwing our own economy and military capacity out of whack.

Now we are overextended, too far in debt, unsure of ourselves, non-cohesive, looking bad, and we cannot isolate ourselves to regroup before the EU will go for the jugular as they are already doing.

Environmental issues are just as important to the USA as the rest of the world.

Correct. Nobody cares. They just want to LOOK like they do so they can do maneuvering with the taxes to grow governments and keep the populace feeling fat, dumb, and happy.

In a country which already has regular floods, droughts, tornados and hurricanes climate change will make things even worse and the USA is the biggest polluting nation by a long shot. But the lobbyists have control on that issue.

As they are funded by the EU socialists, you are correct again. The thing you HAVEN'T mentioned is the Earth's proven ability to heal and recover by its globally contained biospheric ecosystem the same pollution you view as a threat, wether we continue to pollute or not. It isn't that which threaten's America.

Every empire has fallen. One day America will to, as will the EU, etc.

Correct again. -Even correct order. I argue we have already fallen but the frogs don't realize the water is boiling. -It has been turned up to slow.

However, the EU will fall afterward. I'll give your supposedly educated posterior 3 guesses why and when.

Nice points, Mike.

However, climate change has been a natural cycle of this planet for untold centuries, from moderate to ice age. In the '70s, the environmentalists(most of them were called 'hippies' back then) were screaming that we were racing to another ice age. Then the popular idea caught on that we were racing to global warming with the infamous 'greenhouse effect'. The problem with the global warming theory and the resulting Kyoto treaty is that it's based on bad science. I've read numerous articles by persons in the know that refute the global warming theory. A quick google search will yield fascinating results.

One of them explained that there are more greenhouse causing gases & pollution released in one volcanic event than our current rate of everything mankind is releasing into the atmosphere today - for 1,000 years. This article also stated that there is at least one volcanic event of this magnitude occuring every day somewhere around the world. It put things into perspective. It also touched on methane released from the ocean floor, I understand that it also contributes much greenhouse causing gases. I thought it was rather humorous to see articles worrying about Cow flatulence and the effect on our greenhouse crisis. Dinosaur farts didn't save the dinosaurs from the ice age.

When you consider the big picture, it's somewhat arrogant to think that we can change the earth's climate - barring something catastrophic, such as nuclear war. That would probably make things tough on the insects.

Kyoto would have been crippling to this nation's economy, and it was based on bad science. Contrary to popular belief, Clinton's administration declined to sign it.

I take exception to your description of America as an Empire. If we truly had such designs, a large and diverse part of the world would be part of our nation.

Instead, we have beaten nations and handed the power of governing from a few elites to the masses of the indigenous peoples, taking care that such conquered nations adopt a peaceful nature in their respective constitutions. And spent much blood and treasure in doing so.

America is not an empire, nor do we have such designs.

Not true at all. Its the third world countries that are industrializing and dont have the capital to industrialize cleanly that are the biggest poluters. we are rather clean compared to them.
