If what I read yesterday is true the US has already set up shop in Mexico and has taken over the WOD inside mexico. The report said that the CIA, FBI, Homeland security, and the pentagon are now waging the war on drugs in a dozen Mexican cities.

Expect Patraeus style US hit squads to begin the assassinations of cartel leaders. Just like Iraq and Afghanistan.
