It’s not a victory for Bernie?

Christians beats Socialists again lol

“In June 2018, a Chick-fil-A owner raised his employees' minimum wage from $12 and $13 up to $17 per hour. The average hourly pay rate for a fast-food worker is $8.29, according to PayScale.Aug 23, 2018”.

One socialist wants credit for the raises and one socialist ran the company out of New York [emoji1360][emoji1360][emoji1360]

Great victory for Bernie! Compare that to Individual-1’s epic failure with Carrier.

Amazon is raising its minimum wage to $15 following pressure from Bernie Sanders

Amazon has announced plans to raise the company's minimum wage in the US to $15, following sustained pressure from Democratic Sen. Bernie Sanders.

In a statement released Tuesday, Amazon said the salary increase, to more than double the federal minimum wage of $7.25, would take effect on November 1.

Amazon said the change would affect more than 250,000 full- and part-time employees plus more than 100,000 seasonal staff members who work for Amazon over the holiday season.

"We listened to our critics, thought hard about what we wanted to do, and decided we want to lead," CEO Jeff Bezos said. "We're excited about this change and encourage our competitors and other large employers to join us."

Trump doesn’t deserve credit NOW for something that happened months ago any more than Bernie Sanders deserves credit NOW for something he did months ago.

Thanks for playing. :113:

$15 an hour isn't any big sacrifice; it's still below the inflation rate, and they all made a lot of money for decades at half that rate, so there is no loss on their part to finally pay what they should have been paying 20 years ago. When the big new 'job creator' is those delivery boy scams like Uber calling their employees 'contractors' and paying about $9 an hour average to tards who use their own vehicles, obviously having no math skills on what it takes per mile to operate a commercial vehicle.

And, they aren't paying 15 an hour here, it's around $12 average here, with many jobs of course closer to $10 an hour, so if this claim is over a year old then they obviously lied back then. Or is it one of those 'it will be about 10 years from now' announcements for PR purposes.

In other words, Uncle Bernie didn't do squat.

One owner in CA.

Mason's new gold standard at his Chick-fil-A store comes in a state where the minimum wage is currently $11 for businesses with more than 25 workers -- and will increase a buck a year until it hits $15 by 2022.

As union-led protests that came to be known as the "Fight for $15" were sweeping the nation in 2015, McDonald's said it would set starting pay for 90,000 workers at company-owned stores at one dollar above the minimum wage. Yet the fast-food giant didn't keep pace with local wages, and recently said it never intended the increase to be "a policy thereafter."

There are more than 2,200 Chick-fil-A restaurants across the U.S., most of them owned by franchisees. A Chik-fil-A spokesman noted that Mason's $17 to $18 an hour wage floor was his call, not the company's.

"Chick-fil-A restaurants are individually owned and operated, so wage decisions are made at the local level," the spokesman said, adding that "many of our owner/operators began their careers as hourly team members."

Amazon can afford to pay $15 an hour but I'm wondering what that will do to their bottom line??

Hope the price of books doesn't go up as I get all of my kindle books through Amazon.

Personally I think its a big mistake that will bite them in the ass before its all said and done.

This certainly reduces their incentive to employ people in places with lower costs of living. And those are often the places that need jobs the most. Like so much of this living wage horseshit, it's really just another kind of gentrification.

The lower the wages the better, according to the sociopaths. That's why there are all those people desperate to sneak over the border into Red China and all you right wingers are immigrating over there.
