Volunteer's dog finds missing 5-year-old Wisconsin boy | StarTribune.com

PRESCOTT, WIS. - Her auburn fur still wet from a cooling break in the Mississippi River, Autumn headed up an embankment and turned hard right on Wednesday morning, leading owner Jason Moser in their search for missing 5-year-old Scott Meyer.

After a few minutes trailing the 8-year-old golden retriever, Moser said, "I heard a little whimpering, a little crying. I saw bare skin and a diaper."

Moser sprinted toward the boy, who was tucked near a tree on a steep slope. He dropped to a knee as Scott snatched a water bottle from his hand and drank half.

Wow, what a blessing for that family.

I'll bet the wife, who tried to keep the dog at home that day, is glad her husband didn't listen to her.

Time to put the pup on a diet, lol. I love dogs. One of the most remarkable of God's gifts to us.

Which is why his mother was so distraught. She was afraid he'd go straight to the tracks.

God I love dogs. Who can live without one or more??

That dog did just what my dogs would do. Find me and they would.

Glad the little guys dog found him and he's okay.

Thanks for sharing once again BB.

I'd like to live with 17, but that wouldn't be fair to them.

I'm pretty sure.

........... I should look into that. :)

And if they didn't, they're still wonderful!

I worry that my affection for my pups will scar my children..I have to make it a point to love on my kids when I love on the dogs. I do love my kids more, it's just different. With dogs it's instant gratification...I feel better when I grab my monster and give him a huge hug. I'm afraid if I hugged my son as much as I hug the dogs I'll make him weird. So it's a balancing act.:lol::lol:

Thank goodness, the kids love them too.

Just a dream. I rent a room in a two-cat home. :)

I'm happiest with one dog...

Two dogs are fun but consume my world.

One dog is just another family member.

Two dogs, we're part of their family.

Old adage:

If you have one dog, you have a dog.

If you have two dogs, you have half a dog.

Three dogs...you have no dog at all.

You go right ahead and do that. I'll stand by for another long winded lesson about how important it is to be pack leader.
