Dogs are way smarter than people give them credit for. Their body language alone speaks volumes.

I've have Border Collies and I know first hand how intelligent and trainable these dogs are.

Doesn't surprise me one bit that Rico and Chaser are BC's.

We have a Beagle mix. When we go out for a walk, without fail, he will always take the route I'm thinking of.

How does he know that?

And I envy you Border Collie owners who can walk your dogs without a leash.

I have a Jindo..which is a Korean hunting dog. Very difficult breed..but once they bond to you they are loyal and loving. They are also extremely intelligent and very willful. They will try to escape at every turn..but they are also famous for coming back to their owners..sometime traversing great distances. Kind of seems to me..they wouldn't have to make such perilous journeys..if they didn't "bolt" in the first place.
