Well now that I've been participating on this board for over a week now and most of the time in this section, I can see that there is dissention on Arizona's SB 1070(hard to miss right). IMO I consider the bill necesary to tackle the illegal immigration problem in the States, especially in Arizona. I've noticed some people have complained that it is either unconstitutional or it will cause racial profiling. What I haven't noticed from these people are alternatives. Is it that you don't see it as a serious problem(illegal immigration) or is it that you know of a better way? If you don't see this as a problem then I don't think you're grasping the significance of illegal immigration. We are a land of laws and though we wish we could pick and choose the ones we want to follow, it doesn't work that way. The illegal immigrants are breaking the law by crossing into our nation. We have ways to enter this country legitimately that most of our ancestors had to abide by, why cut them a break... again. If you know of an alternative way to take care of this problem, please by all means, let us know. I can understand why some can see this as a way for racial profiling and yes it would suck if I were on my way to a wedding, prom, hospital, etc. but got stopped by a cop and held until they can verify my citizenship. Unfortunately I see no alternative other than taking this drastic measure... So again if you do let us know.
