Altay appears to share strong chasis characteristics with its technological base, the South Korean XK-2 Black Panther, with a re-designed Turkish turret and Aselsan’s state-of-the-art Volkan-III modular fire control system. The number of wheels have been increased to seven, which translates to a longer hull, heavier armor, increased survivability and possibly a stronger, non-standard engine rated at 1,800+ HP.

According to reports, a military envoy from Columbia was also present at the press meeting to obtain more information about the tank.

In 2013 mass production of Altay MBT will start.
1.000 pieces will be produced in 4 lots.
In the bottom is another wheeled 120mm canon project (Howitzer).
So in 3-4 years Turkish Army will have additional firepower of 1.350 wheeled 120mm Cannons able to operate and penetrate without fixed geographical restrictions.

Air Defence Missile System Project
Bidding for project ended January 2010.
In next SSM meeting (Procurement Authority), winner will be announced.

US, Russian and Chinese systems have made biddings.

US Congress already gave OK to sale of PAC-3

If Turkey chooses Patriot-3 system, project volume would be 7.8 Billion $.

Turkish Airforce

- 4 new Boeing 737 AEW&C AWACS MESA

But that is just bonus (Airforce+Navy).
It is still the Land Forces who win the war.
With all those additional 120mm + 150mm cannons it is enormous firepower.
Plus, we nowadays produce the gear from the Land Forces mainly indigeniously.
That means the stuff is designed in the beginning from a unique need base.

German Tanks, US howitzers are designed from their need base (Geographic operation factor).
Money stays in country also, and if war erupts there is inland supplies without foreign factors.

Win what war? Last war you were in Turkey did not even exist, it was the Ottoman Empire. And unless you want to take credit for the bad you can not take credit for anything in that war.

Ekrem is the master of it.

I produce content, that is for you Spam.
But the content contains data and facts about various issues.
Most time it begins with Turkish centric content, but shifts into more general content.

Various people in search engines may find these content.
If I search in Google Blog search for Turkish centric content, usmessageboard achieves good to middle results varying with the search terms.
In this perspective, I define me as an enrichment for xotoxi.

If econimical and social development is not hindered by militarization, there's nothing wrong with vertical and horizontal expansion of defence capabilities.
It is unlikely that Turkey will be involved in wars, if we do not choose to start one, but Defence is also an export market.

Jordan, Malaysia, Pakistan and UAE are interested to buy T-129 Attack Helicopters.
Direct link to Jamestown Foundation does parse with errors in forum.

Likewise MILGEM ships will be exported to Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Ukrainian and Canadian Navies are also intereted in the design:

And on ceremony for Altay MBT Battle Tanks was a military envoy from Colombia.
Also it is very likely that Central Asian nation's might buy this and that, and Turkey can supply weapons according to its foreign interests.
Like arming Syria and Lebanon against Israelian aggression.

In 2009 we did sign with both nations cooperation agreements in defence industries.

I firmly believe that a Country is free to sell its arms to anyone willing to buy them. With a few exceptions, like Nukes. Or Nuclear technology.

By the way? Anything you sell to Syria that they ever plan to use against Israel will be junk a few hours later.
