Allen West Delivers Epic Speech On GOP's Proud History Fighting For Black Equality...

It took all of three posts for Dave to play the victim / racism card. A New Record!
Are you saying no USMB leftist has ever used racial epithets towards West?

I did. Alan West is a buck dancing mammy singing coon a la Herman Cain.
And now, because you proved me right, ClosedCaption will act all superior to you for no apparent reason.

Oh, wait -- no, he won't. He's incapable of criticizing a fellow leftist.

On edit: You're a retard.

I don't give a shit how he acts towards. Coonie West seems to not have covered why blacks left the republican party.

In a sweeping and stirring oration on the floor of the House of Representatives, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) proudly recounted the Republican Party’s long history of fighting for black freedom against the Democratic Party’s history of racism and oppression.

Rep. West’s speech offered a timeline of Republican Party victories on behalf of African Americans’ long battle for equality. From the elections of the first black members of Congress (Sen. Hiram Revels (R-MS) and Rep. Joseph Rainey (R-SC)), to the adoption of the 13th Amendment, 14th Amendment, 15th Amendment, 1875 Civil Rights Act, 1957 Civil Rights Act, 1964 Civil Rights Act, and of course the Emancipation itself, Rep. West recounted how each victory was the result of the Republican Party’s commitment to freedom for all citizens, regardless of hue.

Rep. West also recounted the victories of GOP luminaries like President Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, President Dwight Eisenhower, and Sen. Everett Dirksen.

Before reading any of the replies to this let me predict a lot of bullshit from the lefties trying to spin, deny, rewrite history, or play the "those Republicans weren't really Republicans, they were really democrats and all the democrats who opposed equality, defended slavery, started and maintained the KKK, put American citizens in concentration camps, and blocked real civil rights as long and as hard as they could were really Republicans!"

Now let's see...

Now let's see...

Are those Democrats still in the republican party? Did they vote for Obama in 2008?

Do you guys understand what happened in the 60's and why the Republican Party is still 90% white?

Yes they do but they like to play pretend
Today's revisionist history moment is brought to you by rderp and ClosedMind.

Yeah, the blacks left the GOP first because the left promised them what they concluded the GOP could not get them - an end to Jim Crow.

What they didnt understand was the price; 48 years of growing crime in their communities, growing drug addiction, incarceration rates, illegitimate children, dropping test scores for their school kids and being completely taken for granted by the Democratic Party.

A deal with the Devil if I ever saw one.

It's so easy to ignore the fact that in Lincoln's time, the Democrats were the conservative bunch, and the Republicans were the liberal bunch.

"Revisionist History" is what Republicans do.

So why is the Republican Party 90% white and what happened in the 60's to make it so.

Make it good. We're waiting.

Didn't take long for me to be proven accurate in my prediction.

Do you guys understand what happened in the 60's and why the Republican Party is still 90% white?

So no one could answer the question? If Republicans did so much, why is the party 90% white.

Now come on. These are very simple questions.

It's so easy to ignore the fact that in Lincoln's time, the Democrats were the conservative bunch, and the Republicans were the liberal bunch.

Back then 'liberal' meant what 'conservative' basically means today, and the GOp never abandoned its commitment to civil rights.

Apparently you missed that little response, pig-face.

And my sincere apologies to pig-faced people the world over.

He is such a racist.

Right, USMB lefties?

The Race Card Card is one of Davey's favorites.

What a stupid thing to say. Are we talking about back when "day" meant what "night" means today, too? Or when "up" meant what "down" means today?

and the GOp never abandoned its commitment to civil rights.

Which explains exactly why the GOP dominated south stands in the lead on civil rights nowadays. :eusa_hand:

Forget party affiliation. That which we call a rose, by any other name, will still make you bleed. Let's get to the meat and potatoes. Civil rights has ALWAYS been a liberal issue, and the conservative position has always been to either oppose civil rights, deny there is a problem in the first place, or to insist that the problem is not so bad, or that they problem should be left to individuals to sort out.

It's so easy to ignore the fact that in Lincoln's time, the Democrats were the conservative bunch, and the Republicans were the liberal bunch.

Since when are liberals for individule liberty.

What about the civil war do you think was about individual liberty? Let me ask you this: Which of the following is a generally liberal position, A) stronger state level governance, of B) stronger federal level governance? Is a state nullifying a federal law a liberal concept, or a conservative concept? Is secession a liberal invocation or a conservative invocation? Is it liberals or conservatives who are likely to base their support for public policy on their interpretations of the bible?

Where is the "individual freedom" in the federal government dictating to you your personal labor policies? Where is the "individual freedom" of the federal government telling you what to do with your property? Where is the "individual liberty" in the federal government telling a person how to run their business?

Your partisan hackery is pathetic, and flies in the face of established history. Wax poetic all you like, it will not change the facts.

Yea, sure, ask the women about "women's rights"

Ask the gays about equality.

Ask the blacks about voter suppression.

Why are Republicans 90% white?

Were you laughing when you typed that? You had to be.

We should nominate Mr. West to run for President.

It's refreshing to see someone finally stick up for Republicans.
