All you welfare haters... how about this?

I favor getting as many off of welfare as possible. Right now they're all too comfortable in their poverty. I don't think we should kick them off, but make it more uncomfortable. Mandatory drug tests, all children must stay in school, regular fitness evaluations, things like that. If these standards are not met, you get cut off.

Really? You going to do this with the Private sector too? Mandatory drug tests? Children in school? FITNESS EVALUATIONS?

Wow. Why should they have any different policies than anyone else? If they show up for fucking work and do their job... they get paid.

You want to dictate your own prejudices... I don't.

Sounds like a bad idea to me...

America = Make or Break yourself = True evolution = Better Stronger Competitive Society.

Let’s take steps forward, not backwards please.

The private sector finances their own agenda, the public sector relies on taxpayer dollars. Therefore the taxpayers should be allowed to demand a return for our investment.

Oh bullshit Avory.

Let's take real steps.... not forward OR backward. But real steps.

Yes... there will be some that are hopelessly addicted to a substance. There will be some that Can't intellectually move into mainstream productivity. But ALL WILL BE WORKING, won't they... which is the Biggest complaint I hear from you guys.

You feel so cheated that someone.... ANYONE... may be pulling a fast one while you are working for your paycheck. This will eliminate that and you have NOTHING to complain about.

The free market will correct this?

Why don't we stop outsourcing our charity to the government and take up our God given responsibility to serve our fellow man ourselves? Why don't we keep the commandment to work six days and rest on the Seventh? Why don't we keep ourselves from being idle, but instead seek to better ourselves and our positions and to do our duties toward our families?

Do this, and we won't need government run healthcare, period.

Not sure what you mean? Are you saying that jobs would be less likely to hire welfare recipients?

That would require time and effort, which are the two most hated words in the english dictionary. If they can't get it easily and get it right now, then it's not worth having or doing.

We start a new age "Conservation Corps"? If you don't know what the Conservation Corps was... then you are either.

A. Too young
B. Too ignorant of history

What my proposal for welfare reform is this:

We have a crumbling infrastructure.. our roads and bridges suck, our water supplies are outdated, our electrical grid runs at approximately 34% EFFICIENCY!!!!

Let's get our current welfare recipients working.... for... you guessed it... The Federal Government.

Now before you scream socialism(like you always do), hear me out. In the beginning, we take our welfare folks and mandate them to work for their benefits. We train them, we offer them child care(for those single mothers out there), and we make the jobs as conveniently located as possible.

NOW... pay attention... IT WILL COST MORE TO DO THIS THAN THE CURRENT MODEL!

But, you will be getting something for your tax dollar, won't you? Not only that, but I personally feel that a sense of EMPOWERMENT beats a sense of ENTITLEMENT tenfold. You get these people into a real world working environment and most of them will respond.

Sure... there may be a certain percentage that will be a ditch digger for the rest of their lives, but so what? Even as a ditch digger, you are getting productivity for your tax dollar.

Don't you know that if you do this then it makes it attractive to be on welfare?
And how does this translate into a job into the private sector?
And how many private businesses that already do this will go under competing against a government entity that DOES NOT have to compete and show a profit?
Respectfully, your idea will cost more private sector jobs and government $ than it would help.
Rule of thumb: Government fucks things up and should stay out of all things the private sector does.

SSI Is a different story. I work with folks that get SSI. They are in an institution for the developmentally disabled(read:mentally retarded).

IMO, IF you have the documentation... you are exempt. Dammit, that's one area where I will not compromise. Sure, you could have a team of shyster lawyers trying to fuck people out of existence, But I'd rather err on the side of caution than to screw even ONE disabled person.

For every person that is disabled and gets benefits there are 4 that get the benefits and there is not much wrong with them.
Where are the families of these disabled people? How come I have to raise my family and pay for their families also?

then it's time we start changing our culture so that these are things we love to do isnt it?

What my proposal for welfare reform is this:

We have a crumbling infrastructure.. not true our roads and bridges suck, false our water supplies are outdated, best in the world our electrical grid runs at approximately 34% EFFICIENCY!!!! That could be true, for people that have no grasp of electricity.

Let's get our current welfare recipients working.... for... you guessed it... The Federal Government. Against the law, you can't force people to work.

Now before you scream socialism(like you always do),lie hear me out. In the beginning, we take our welfare folks and mandate them to work for their benefits. against the law We train them, How? You can't force them to learn we offer them child care we do that already(for those single mothers out there), and we make the jobs as conveniently located as possible.

NOW... pay attention... IT WILL COST MORE TO DO THIS THAN THE CURRENT MODEL! any proof beyond opinion?

But, you will be getting something for your tax dollar, won't you? no, I'd rather pay to get it done by people that want to be there. Not only that, but I personally feel that a sense of EMPOWERMENT beats a sense of ENTITLEMENT tenfold. It's neither when you are forced. You get these people into a real world working environment and most of them will respond. by calling you a racist.

Sure... there may be a certain percentage that will be a ditch digger for the rest of their lives, but so what? Even as a ditch digger, you are getting productivity for your tax dollar.

Are you also for the draft during war time? :cuckoo:

Are they going to pay Federal Income Taxes or will we have to give them REBATES?

Where is that steelplate? In your head? If you think a bunch of kids and homeless drunks have the skills to repair bridges let me know which ones and I will stay off them. First of all, make work projects funded by taxpayers is a zero sum gain. Get those kids to join the Military if you want to make a difference in their lives and the benefit of the Country.

How about welfare leaches just pay it back when they get on their feet? Then it is a hand up and not a hand out. You pay it back, your no longer a leach.
Is that seriously a cowboy wearing chaps over his naked ass in your avatar?

You are sick. No one wants to hear your homoerotic fanatasies. Especially me.

I have jeans on in that photo and those are not chaps, they are chinks.

They would have no incentive to "get on their feet." They should have to work to earn the taxpayer's dollars and even though they might hate that, it really would, as you have mentioned, and for many of them, grow their self-esteem and the resulting pride might empower them to move up and on. :) Benjamin Franklin said the best way to help people out of their poverty is to make them uncomfortable.

If we could manage that then we would solve a lot more than just the welfare state. I don't have faith it will happen though. I'm more inclined to think we'll end up just like the movie "Idiocracy".
