Anyone else want to travel at light speed in their life time?

I'd love to, but it won't happen. If we projected Mars as a realistic goal by 2050, we would never make Alpha Centari before 2100...Light speed in our spacetime is impossible as proved by Einstein, so we would have to investigate methods of folding space which is possible (general relativity). Now we just need a unified field theory to be formulated and research into subspace (of which there is no scientific support as of yet) to commence and we are set. I'd say the best we could hope for is too long after our death...unless of course we face WWIII, a Montana scientist converts a nuclear missile into a spaceship, and cybernetic aliens from the 24th century invade earth. Then we are all set. Cheers.
