If George W. Bush pulls off privatizing Social Security and democracies keep popping up in the Middle East, then he has to go down as one of the greatest Presidents of all time. Even Newsweek and Time magazines are starting to ask themselves the question, "Is the Bush Doctrine Paying Off?" To paraphrase Newsweek, the people power was always there, but they couldn't overcome Saddam by themselves. When America came and deposed the leader, then people power took over. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Afghanistan, and Iraq are all becoming more democratic because of the Bush doctrine, either directly or indirectly. :salute:

Whether or not he pulls off SS privitization, he will go down as a historic president. You've made the reasons clear.

Pulling off privatization will be icing on the cake and he will be remembered for a long time to come for that as well as his courageous foreign policy. I would also like to see him do something with abortion before he is done.
