Alabama GOP Governor to Mitt:

I hope 0bama asks for him to release the tax returns at a debate and Romney just tells him there right there next to your college transcripts...

obama isn't looking for actual wrongdoing. If he was looking for real wrongdoing the IRS would be deep in an audit by now.

What obama is looking for is something he can trot out to manipulate into the appearance of wrong doing. Like a perfectly legal foreign bank account, or a perfectly legal investment into an offshore company. No democrat is looking for wrongdoing. They are looking for propaganda.

When democrats demanded all of Sarah Palin's correspondence, they went AHA she sends out complimentary notes to people. SEE, it's corruption! Then they posted everything on line and asked for public help in scrutinizing the material to see if someone else could find anything remotely wrong that they could.

ummm...... IF you read the OP you'd see that its one of the people on your side asking him to clear the air :eusa_whistle: Glad to help :)

So what... One of yours, Zell Miller, thinks you flaming leftist liberals are douchebags...

Glad to help...:fu:

Gimpy sure does like piggybacking on my threads. Still not up to starting your own eh? Not surprising. You're welcome Gimpy

As a rule, the IRS doesn't look into election misconduct until after an election is over... So, no, not so much. Look how long it took to indict John Edwards.

Again, not so much an issue of legality as appearences. Is it legal to park your money in a Cayman Island Bank account? Yup. Is it the right thing to do? Not so much.

If one can’t run an effective campaign for president, he has no business being president.

Romney’s making every amateur mistake in the book, even his rightist allies understand that. Romney’s refusal to come clean on Bain is just one of many examples.

Romney’s not admitting to mistakes and not being honest with the American people reminds voters of GWB, and no one wants that kind of administration again.

Come clean.

As long as this unanswered question remains, it will poison his candidacy. Even his GOP opponents asked him to come clean in the Primaries :eusa_whistle:

GOP governor calls on Romney to release more tax returns - Yahoo! News

I concur...for every year of college transcripts Obama releases, Romney should release a year of tax returns.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but my post was neither off topic nor deflection.

I agreed with your premise and expanded it to include BOTH candidates.

You, on the other hand, are only interested in scoring political points while turning a blind eye to the calls for release of Obama's hidden documents.

Newsflash...Obama has a beam in his own eye.

Therefore, I proposed a compromise.

For every year of college transcript Obama releases, Romney should release one year of tax returns.

I understand why you wish to dismiss this as deflection...because you understand Team Obama has no intention of releasing anything, which totally undermines your position.

Sorry man...ignoring it won't make it go away...your position is totally undermined.

True. Its too early in the campaign for him to start stonewalling. Doesn't look right even to potential Romney voters.

Again, it's a deflection...

Mitt's whole argument is that we should vote for him because he was such a great leader at Bain. Therefore, what he did at Bain and how he profited off of various Bain deals and how much control he has is relevent.

Obama is not running as a "Harvard Grad"....

I sense Americans don't want an more of an effective campaigner.

It is why we are where we are today.

We want a do'er and path-clearer. Romney is both.

Lefties are beginning to look desperate and even pathetic this early in the campaign. The anti-capitalist rhetoric is only resonating with the neo-socialist radicals but I guess anything is better than running on the president's record.

One would think that the IRS doesn't have documents filed with the IRS!

Yes, they do. WHich is why if Romney had half a brain, he'd release them now, bat down anything negative which he is obviously hiding, and move on.

The last thing he would need would be for someone to "leak" the information like Bush's DUI or Clinton's passport records in an "October Surprise."

The IRS, who has ALL of these documents, has not found anything illegal and/or shady...

Not a single audit or request for clarification...

The gubmint you love so much has signed off on each and every one of them...

Correction: they have not found anything illegal. Shady is not illegal and the IRS doesn't act on Mittens telling lies about what he was doing and when he was doing at bain, unless he tells it to them in returns or sworn documents. Mittens may very well be doing things like lying to the american public about what he did at Bain, but as long as he files the truth and stays within the law to the IRS he can say whatever he wants to us. If lying to the american public in a campaign were illegal we would pretty much have to arrest every presidential candidate and all of the congressmen and women also. Our local governments would be in jail. The staff at FOX and MSNBC would be in jail.

Perhaps that is not a bad law?

Nope, that dog won't hunt...Bain Capital is a publicly traded company...it's profits and loses are publicly available.

You can start here: Bain Capital - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now, explain how Romney's tax returns will reveal more about whether he was a "great leader" at Bain Capital than Bain Capital's own records and filings.

Nothing illegal, then... Bainthers have already decided his returns are "shady" without even seeing them... If he were to release them and there was nothing in there remotely considered "shady" do you think Bainthers would just say "OK, well all right then. Thanks."?

Nothing to gain by releasing the returns, much as I believe 0bama sees nothing to be gained from releasing his transcripts...

It would tell us how much money he was paid and when, to start with.

How much he personally profited from some of the dodgier deals like AmPad and GS STeel.

What's he hiding? I can think of a lot of things.

What could Obama be hiding with his college transcripts. That on his way to a 3.7 GPA he might have gotten a C in something? Seriously?

Like I said, Soro's left wing propaganda network is working overtime to come up with cherry picked comments from (only) republicans. The fact that the cherry picked comments seem so important to the left wing is an indication of the pathetic status of Hussein's campaign.

Yes, it is not illegal to have spent time outsourcing, crashing companies for profit, and doing the things Mittens did at Bain. It would confirm that Mitt is lying to the US public. Still not illegal, but it would confirm what Obama says about him despite his attempts to pretend he is a job creator despite actuallyfucking up MA's job growth in his time there.

Still you are correct, nothing illegal, just a confirmation of his lies that could be used to swing undecided voters away from him. Don't worry i have no allusions that Mitt could do anything to swing republican fucktards away from him.

Oh, and this is the reason Mittens will not release these documents.
