Since losing Jack Dempsey.

Dogs are every bit family as people if you have them for the right reasons.
I'd immediately shoot a MFer who tried to do harm to my dogs.

And that goes for the two new little shits we acquired.

Dogs are very clever, incredibly loving and loyal, so entertaining, and they have a whole range of emotions, some of them quite sophisticated.
One of mine actually exhibits schadenfruede on a regular basis!

Sadly he’s going in to the vets tomorrow for X-rays etc followed by an op. in the near future.
I become really anxious about these things, even though I know it’s all likely to turn out fine.

One of the best dogs I ever had was a Boxer. Great dog! I had to learn to ignore slobber and some amazing gas. But she was my best friend.

A good friend of mine recently had to euthanize her many-year-old dog. During the time when she owned the dog her husband died, so of course she was "grateful" to the dog for helping her through some VERY difficult times.

But it's a dog, for Christ sake.

Remember the move Castaway, where the Tom Hanks character painted a face on a volleyball, named it "Wilson," and Wilson became his companion for the remainder of his trial?

Isn't this basically the same thing as having a relationship with your dog?

Pity for those who don't get it.

FYI if it was your life or my dog's I'd save my dog
