so i'm found by an old friend who's wearing an incident command vest out in God's country, of all the modes of communicado we have, everything was down 'cept his e-mail

i mean, you have a total disaster, ph & power out everywhere.......

highways , houses, supremarkets, and infastructure , all toast!

by by gawd, they still had e-mail

This was my road C4All

we had it easy

aside from being trapped only for a night

and the fact that i couldn't pull an electron outta my a*s for love or $$$

I'm south of Killington, but this was north and closer to it
These folks were land locked for a while, state highways were trashed, lotta house and natural debris scattered all over.

They carved a single lane goat trail up around the mess to gain access in/out , restricted access and all.....

The VT Nat gaurd airlifted in food/medicine, out anyone with a med problem

We really haven't had a disaster this widespread, so it's stretching our resources a tad

What hit me was the face of heartache all around, people standing in front of lost farms in their family for generations

Some of these folks have been holed up in the (former T hall) command center for a week now , they haven't anywhere to go

The rivers are all angry, and we're expecting another hard rain too.....

Thanks to my being entirely prepared (I'd made a big pot of chili just in case I lost power) I did not suffer due to Irene.

I suspect the reason Vermont is in trouble is because you people didn't study hard enough in school.

That and you're all lazy socialist collectivists.

We Mainers didn't get hammered because GOD loves us more than you.

We're right thinking people.

Admit it, you brought this upon yourselves.

So pull yourselves up by your soggy bootstraps and stop dwelling on some little problems like your entire energy and transportation systems collapsed.

i have friends near killington , they own a motel there....the roads were wiped out, they've been homelocked.

i lost my electric for 2 days and thought the world was coming to an end.....it was awful!

Now I am ashamed for whining about it, after hearing from him, and what they are going through!
