AFL is forming a super PAC that they claim will be non-partisan? Really, that's their story and they are sticking with it... IMO they want to make sure the democrat politico's understand JUST how much power and influence they have to peddle!

He said the AFL-CIO super PAC would be very different from the high-profile conservative super PAC American Crossroads, which has raised millions for Republican candidates.

Really?

They own Obama and a few other Democrats.

They own democrats period! They just want that ownership to be underlined with extra large bold lettering~

So who does Super-PAC American Crossroads own then?

The Union money makes American Crossroads look like peanuts. Not only do they collect forced dues- this PAC will now work in a concerted effort to go after non-union money to add to their Borg like organization.

If you include lobbying money, corporations spend 30-50 times as much as unions and conservation groups, and guess what party fights all lobbying regulations? DUH.
And what do unions and conservation groups want? Protect workers and nature from screw the worker and polluting greedy pubs. What the hell is wrong with you people? Keep voting against yourselves, morons...

Oh please- spare us the "our money is good money" bullshit! Lobbyist's come from both sides of the aisle. That said, union money, is forced theft! Taking union dues that are used in such a partisan manner is despicable ...ain't nothing good or nice about it.

Look at this chart to see how much Labor outspent other donors in the 2008 election cycle.

Look at those corporations...GASP!

Top Contributors

This table lists the top donors to this candidate in the 2008 election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate , rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Because of contribution limits, organizations that bundle together many individual contributions are often among the top donors to presidential candidates. These contributions can come from the organization's members or employees (and their families). The organization may support one candidate, or hedge its bets by supporting multiple candidates. Groups with national networks of donors - like EMILY's List and Club for Growth - make for particularly big bundlers.

The dumbest thing unions ever did was go all in on one party. As a result, the Republicans do whatever they can to screw them when they get into power, and the Democrats take them for granted and don't do all that much for them.

So not surprising, Union membership has declined rapidly over the last 40 years.

Unions don't "go all in on one party".

The AFLCIO has supported Republicans. NiXXon as an example.

PATCO, foolishly supported Reagan, for another example.

Unions in Massachusetts endorse Republican candidates nearly every election cycle.

PATCO foolishly staged an illegal strike that put thousands of people in danger. Not the kind of thing to do when a lot of people would HAPPILY take your job. The thing was, they had no sympathy, so Reagan could fire them to cheers of the crowd.

My dad, who was a life-time union guy, thought that was perfectly okay, because PATCO had broken their end of the contract, which had a no-strike clause.

To the point, though, Unions have been their own worst enemy. They are about preserving what they have, not helping out anyone but their own. Teacher unions are a great example, when they fight to keep the jobs of pedophile teachers, not to mention the incompetent ones.

The GOP in Massachusetts produces RINO liberals like Mitt Romney. They need the R after their names, because otherwise you'd never tell the difference.

RINOs like (then) Tea Party darling Scott Brown?

Scott Brown is as much a RINO as Romney. The TEA Party liked him because he promised to block ObaminationCare. Otherwise, they are not thrilled with him on other issues.

Scott Brown's Jobs Vote Spurs Angry Online Backlash - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin chastised the Republicans "who joined the Dems to end debate on the phony jobs boondoggle that even the Associated Press points out will create a puny number of jobs." Those, Republicans, she added, included, "Yes, sigh, Scott Brown." Malkin listed the phone number for Brown's Washington office and encouraged her readers to call him.

Brown has been cast as a hero of the right after winning the Senate special election in Massachusetts to take over the seat once held by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy. He made an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference last weekend, where he introduced former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Yeah, they were all about him when he was running with an R next to his name and now that he's shown that he makes rational decisions based on reality and not their ideology, he's lost their favor.

If Obama wins in 2012 I think Brown makes a strong run at the White House in 2016.
