I'm very happy to colonise on the basis of enforcing universal human rights.

Now that's no argument, I know that, it would be ripped apart in any formal debate because I'm assuming far too much about universal human rights. But you know, what we're looking at isn't a debate, it's real life hence my earlier reference to realpolitik.

I saw an online story about how Sharia has been approved by the Pakistan parliament for the Swat (?) Valley. Apparently no dissenters. The Taleban had said they would take action against any parliamentarian who voted against the move.

I'm very happy to colonise on the basis of enforcing universal human rights and to put these theocratic bastards back in their box and to make sure that those nukes in Pakistan don't all in the hands of said theocratic bastards.

If I look like a hypocrite for that then I'll wear it gladly.
