The race between the two remains essentially unchanged — even among likely voters, at 48 percent to 48 percent. But the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll shows clear deflation for Kerry across a range of measures: Strong enthusiasm for his candidacy has dropped by 16 points (almost precisely what it gained after Boston), and his personal favorability rating has lost eight points to hit a new low. Bush, meanwhile, has chipped five points off the number of Americans who see him unfavorably.

I was called on this poll two nights ago. The questions went like this:

Pollster: Who do you plan to vote for?

Me: Bush

Pollster: Is there any chance you will vote for Kerry?

Me: NO

Pollster: What are the most important issues to you? (note plural)

Me: The War on Terrorism. . .

Pollster: Oh, reeeallly?

Me: Yes, my other issues are.....

I'm not surprised at all!! Everytime I see a poll, or someone tells me about a poll, I just have to dismiss it. I just wish Nov. 3rd would get here and this would all just be over. My nerves can't take much more!!

I don't follow polls. Even the ones right now that are saying Bush is leading in most states, they all mean Bullshit. Nov 2nd is the only poll that matters.

Polls are only now starting to be relevant, yet a lot could change prior to Nov. 2. Today, Rasmussen put Wisc. in the Bush column, bad news for Kerry, as Gore carried. If IL ever starts to 'lean Kerry' watch out!
