The Obama administration is warning Congress that if it doesn't move to regulate greenhouse gases, the Environmental Protection Agency will take a "command-and-control" role over the process in way that could hurt business.

The warning, from a top White House economic official who spoke Tuesday on condition of anonymity, came on the eve of EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson's address to the international conference on climate change in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Jackson, however, tried to strike a tone of cooperation in her address Wednesday, explaining that the EPA's new powers to regulate greenhouse gases will be used to complement legislation pending in Congress, not replace it.

"This is not an 'either-or' moment. It's a 'both-and' moment," she said.

But while administration officials have long said they prefer Congress take action on climate change, the economic official who spoke with reporters Tuesday night made clear that the EPA will not wait and is prepared to act on its own.

And it won't be pretty.

This shouldn't surprise anyone--with the democrat "cap & tax" bill that only adds more to consumer & business electricity bills--with no other infrascruture in place to handle the electricity demand--:lol: What does the government do with this extra revenue as far as getting new infracstructure? NOTHING.

Notice how the 787 BILLION in economic stimulus did not include one single penny for a nuclear power plant. Then funny--but the wind generation for the power grid only got 11 billion when they needed 110 billion to "fix" the power grid across the United States to accomodate wind generation.

But this administration wants to drive up costs to the American consumer to get more of your money--"while giving you back NOTHING."

Welcome to the destruction of the middle class in this country. And hey why not-- you were dumb enough to vote for it-- SO YOU GOT IT."

Regulation of emissions will not "wreck the economy". You guys claimed the exact same thing about regulating sulfur dioxide.
I have never said a word about sulfer dioxide.

And there is only one of me.

Pay attention.
Good catch at the deflection attempt...

In protest of this bullmethane I propose a 'Fart March' in D.C. Meetings will take place the night before with copulas amounts of the spiciest chili and other bean dishes consumed by protesters. Sugary desserts will follow. All gases will be internalized until the protesters have arrived at their destination, the White House. Then, let her rip.

You may have not personally, but a lot other right-wingers sure have.

On this board? This is the first post where I have read about it, Polk. But then again you do project a lot in your posts.

It's not a deflection. Any time environmental regulation comes up, the right claims it'll destroy the country with we have cleaner air and cleaner water. And every time, they're wrong.
