11 children separated from their parents in Canada- versus the Trump policy which had more than 2,000 children separated from their parents.

But Canada has also detained migrant children — and in some cases, has restricted access to their asylum-seeking parents — despite its stated policy to do whatever possible to avoid it.

Last year, 151 minors were detained with their parents in Canadian immigration holding centres.

Eleven others were held in custody unaccompanied by an adult, according to the Canada Border Services Agency. The CBSA would not speculate on the circumstances surrounding why a minor was unaccompanied.

By comparison, the Trump administration has separated more than 2,000 children from their families since instituting a "zero tolerance" crackdown in April on those seeking to enter the United States illegally

I think you missed the first part of your post where it says "Canada aims to avoid..." and confused it with Drumpfs zero tolerance policy of actively detaining and separating families. You must be one of those numerous intellectual geniuses that make up the vast majority of Drumpf supporters.

We should release illegals into our communities and trust that they show up for their deportation hearings? Wait, 70% never show up hence the zero tolerance policy.

Or we should actually pay attention to what the OP says- and the article he claims to cite.

Its apparent that you require some explaining. Lets start with your incorrect statement, "Drumpfs zero tolerance policy of actively detaining and separating families." WRONG!

1. Trump is enforcing immigration law, zero tolerance, fact.
2. Trump put a stop to illegals being released into our communities when its been proven the vast majority will never show up for their deportation hearing, fact.
3. The separation of illegal minors from their parents is due to a law passed by congress in the 1990's and 2 court cases that back it up, its not Trump's policy its the law, fact.
4. Dem's in the Senate have vowed to vote no on fixing this law, fact.

There you have it, now you are better informed.

1. Trump chose to institute a policy of zero tollerence knowing that this would result in children being separated from their parents.
2. Trump and his administration blamed Democrats for Trump's own actions.
3. The separation of illegal minors from their parents was the result of Trump's policy decision to prosecute all of the parents- fact.
4. Trump blamed Democrats for his own policy- fact.
5. Trump claimed there was nothing he could do because he was enforcing the law- and Democrats refused to cooperate- except Trump actually could do something- and reversed his own policy.
6. Meanwhile today- the Republicans could not come up with a majority of votes for their own immigration bill.
7. Trumpsters continue to blame Democrats for what the President and the Republican majority cannot do.
