Adm McRaven: Our Republic Is Under Attack From the President

Biden's sons volunteered to serve in the military. How many of President Bone Spurs' kids have served? How many would even consider it?

And, I myself served over 20 years in the US Navy.

Did you serve stoned?

This isn't decades ago. This is just yesterday.

Perhaps he was stoned when he enlisted.

Yep, sounds like a perfect resume for a position on the board of a Ukrainian Oil and Gas company paying $83,000.00+ per month.

Obama is no longer President, if you want to go back and play this game, let's compare the number of members in the Obama Administration with the number of members in the Reagan Administration and Trump's who have been indicted and put in prison.

What crimes were committed by those around President Donald Trump while they were working for President or candidate Trump?

You left out former President Bill Clinton...go figure!

Wasn't Richard Nixon a Republican.
Yes and he was the one who finally ended LBJ's war. And when it was feared Jack Kennedy was going soft on the commies JFK was shot in the head and LBJ took over and ramped up the war with great gusto.

I'm not interested in all the partisan history lessons. I was actually overseas in medical support for the Navy at the time (actually just a few years before the war ended).

My point remains...this issue is about 95% hate for Trump and 5% concern for the Kurds, if that. And don't think it doesn't show.

And when the last helicopter left Saigon with South Vietnamese allies literally hanging onto to runners as it took off the left wasn't so compassionate (serves 'em right...we shouldn't have been there...it's their fault...who cares, etc.) about our allies then.

And in some ways the Kurds have been left high and dry by our departure but on the other hand we never signed an open ended pact with them staying in Syria forever to keep the Turks off their backs. I know there are refugee programs going on right now in the region so hopefully that will help a lot.

You might like this.....it starts the discussion on the Kurds and Turkey at the 9 minute mark.......

I do like Andrew Klavan and I'm encouraged that a Bush ally says that Trump has done the right thing (pretty amazing in and of itself) and, as usual, our media has been lying to us about the Kurds in Syria.

Btw...the idea that by virtue of becoming a Navy Seal one's judgement and political acumen
becomes far sharper than we non Seals is bullshit!

Just out of curiosity for all you people bitching about McRaven................how many of YOU would have been able to complete BUDs training and become a SEAL?

That's relevant to what, exactly? There was a time when I could and did but that didn't make my opinion of anything more or less credible.

More importantly, why are you denigrating women and those with handicaps?

If President Trump doesn’t demonstrate the leadership that America needs, then it is time for a new person in the Oval Office.

But, if we don’t care about our values, if we don’t care about duty and honor, if we don’t help the weak and stand up against oppression and injustice — what will happen to the Kurds, the Iraqis, the Afghans, the Syrians, the Rohingyas, the South Sudanese and the millions of people under the boot of tyranny or left abandoned by their failing states?

If our promises are meaningless, how will our allies ever trust us? If we can’t have faith in our nation’s principles, why would the men and women of this nation join the military? And if they don’t join, who will protect us? If we are not the champions of the good and the right, then who will follow us? And if no one follows us — where will the world end up?

President Trump seems to believe that these qualities are unimportant or show weakness. He is wrong. These are the virtues that have sustained this nation for the past 243 years. If we hope to continue to lead the world and inspire a new generation of young men and women to our cause, then we must embrace these values now more than ever.

And if this president doesn’t understand their importance, if this president doesn’t demonstrate the leadership that America needs, both domestically and abroad, then it is time for a new person in the Oval Office — Republican, Democrat or independent — the sooner, the better. The fate of our Republic depends upon it.

William H. McRaven, a retired Navy admiral, is a former commander of the United States Special Operations Command and former chancellor of The University of Texas system.

Trump is a traitor and a criminal that needs to be removed and imprisoned for his treason against the United states! About time our military start standing up against him.
You are insane, no doubt about that.

Ya... sure... soldiers just want FIGHT FOR NOTHING, get their legs and shit blown off for NOTHING... to keep fighting a NEVER ENDING BATTLE for NO REASON AT ALL, and NO END IN SIGHT, NO MISSION, NO END STRATEGY, just FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, and DIE, DIE, DIE in RAG HEAD WARS they've been fighting for THOUSANDS OF YEARS.

Yeah, that's the ticket, you DEMOCRATS just LOVE WAR, so WHY don't we see ALL of you LEFTIST WAR LOVING FREAKS lined up at the RECRUITERS OFFICE?

GO JOIN UP, GO FIGHT, for... WHATEVER... go get your LEGS BLOWN OFF, and please, PLEASE, tell us WHAT FOR!
Democrats send our sons to war.

They send their sons to Ukraine to get high-paying jobs.

Biden's sons volunteered to serve in the military. How many of President Bone Spurs' kids have served? How many would even consider it?

And, I myself served over 20 years in the US Navy.
Thank you for your service.

Hunter Biden served less than a month in the Naval Reserves, after receiving a direct commission, then popping hot for coke on a piss test. He didn't even go through ROTC or boot. Hardly a hero. And, oh, yeah, he went to Ukraine and got a job he wasn't qualified for.

His brother Beau seemed like a genuinely good man.

And I myself served 20 years in the US Air Force.

Biden's sons joined the reserves and national guard. Those are not exactly high profile, front line positions. Both were lawyers!

Your service apparently consisted of you being on your knees.

What does that matter?....we are not questioning how tough he is but where is loyalty is......and his wisdom....you can be physically tough and be really, really stupid....

Not in the SEALs you can't. Yes, the main reason people wash out is because they come to a point where they THINK they can't physically go on, but many find the resolve to keep at it. But, people can also wash out for failing tests or not performing well enough on their studies.

And, if you knew much about the culture of SEALs, you would also know that they constantly reinforce each other's patriotism and faith in this country. McRaven is speaking out, because as a military officer, he feels it's his duty to call out his superiors when they are screwing up.

He is also violating the UCMJ. Of course, you would never know it, since you probably have never read it.

Can any of you Little Trumpsters produce a list of generals who support Trump's betrayal of the Kurds?
And you losers raging on McRaven, he is not the only general to slam Trump.

I could go on and on.
Let's see what support military Trump has for his withdrawal and betrayal of the Kurds.
All I see are Little Trumpsters and his puppets. I mean, who would support a drafter dodger with zero experience in warfare and foreign affairs. Trump has been rolled by North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Russia. WTF has Trump actually accomplished on the world stage other than embarrass the United States and lose credibility of the United States.
It's always funny when people who loathe the US military start parading around a handful of members who say things they like.

Funny -- but never credible.

Funny how someone who doesn't know me makes shit up about me..
You are not funny and you are definitely not credible.
I bet you cannot find any evidence to back up your bullshit claim.
I challenge you to back up your self up.You successfully prove your comment and I'll leave USMB, if you can't, you leave USMB,
How about it?

But you cannot prove diddly squat about what he, allegedly, has done. He has done none of what you and the other desperate, far-left progressives fantasize. Relax, take a deep breath and enjoy all the great things happening in our country!

Hearsay from dubious sites doesn't fly!

Not interested. But if you support conservative military members, you're definitely not the usual leftist.

I have supported our troops 100%, always have always will.
I am more in the centralist in the Independent mode. No ideology tells me how to think, I like that.
However, I am to the left of you as a centralist.
However, I am going to defend most of my liberal friends. They are as patriotic as anybody, one couple lost their son in Afghanistan and another couple's son returned with injuries and PTSD. None complain about the troops, but they complain about policy.
