Well, this news flash on Fox got me up this morning whether I wanted to be or not. Mind you, I am not posting any links to Fox News, but there were lots of options to choose from on Google:

$11,000 fine and jail time if you resist the TSA porno-scanners - San Francisco Sunset District Libertarian | Examiner.com

I have no reason to do any air travel but, if I did, I think I would boycott air travel. Let's just put this on an already long list of improper government intrusion into our lives. Does there need to be a solution for security concerns - yes - mebbe just not this one.

Air travel is a choice, Granny. You dun wanna be frisked or scanned? Take the bus.

I want the government to "intrude" as much as need be to assure the safety of passengers. Apparently some people are confused by this notion, and value their dignity more'n their lives.

Everything in life is a choice, Maddie. El Al has the safest air line security in the world - but do we want to learn something from the damned Jews? No. They're Jews.

Maddie ... you are grumpy this morning. Do I need to come over to your house and put some sugar in your coffee? ... maybe offer you a Danish? ... a great big muffin? :D

Having a very good imagination, I can imagine that someone might have interest in seeing my security scan photos. The reality is that they will not.

I see getting blown up at 35,000 feet as a more significant intrusion into my life than getting scanned.

The most effective measure would be to have anyone who does not have a clean scan go to a step two level of detection called a detonation booth in which any explosive of any type is detonated. This would certainly reduce recidivism.

This would also eliminate those uncomfortable groping measures and allow terrorists the dignity of getting blown up.

If a terrorist blows up and was promised 72 virgins by the Mullah for doing so, does he still get the virgins if nobody else is also blown up? Maybe just the Virgins fathers, huh?

i dont want to give up my liberties to have security....there is a franklin quote that covers that....

the scanners wont pick up the explosives used most of the time....or the most common explosive...did you ever wonder who cleans the planes? what they may or may not put on them.....your air travel is not made safe by searching 6 yr olds etc....if you think flying is made more secure by this bullmal....i think you are wrong

I, for one, would hate it like hell if I were detained and refused the option to exit the airport, then face God only knows what kind of interrogation and face the possibility of having an $11,000 fine slapped on me. To me, that is false imprisonment. Who makes the decision to levy the fine and to what entity does the fine go?

I'm sorry, but this whole intrusion on civil liberties argument is rather childish. One of the side effects of the war on terror is the need to beef-up airport and aircraft security.

Hurtling through the air in the hands of others at 550 mph at 35,000 ft in a steel tube is an incredibly vulnerable position to find yourself in. Everything, including passengers, must be examined before take-off to reduce the possibility of a disaster. The federal government and airline provide a convenience, they don't force you to travel by plane. Though I know how I would be travelling if I lived in New York but was needed in Los Angeles, and I would obey the rules that strive to ensure my safety.

Put it this way: Given the choice between an aircraft thats boarding proceedure doesn't require any form of passenger scrutiny; and an aircraft that demands all passengers submit themselves and their luggage to an X-ray scan before boarding, which flight would you put your child on?

It's a cheap shot, I know. But in this kind of situation, only a 'yes' or a 'no' is required.

Bones, if you declare no one under 6 will be searched, where do you think the next bomb on a plane will be stashed?

Donca remember those horrible stories of Vietnamese loading explosives on kids because our GIs would allow children to get close?

    Four words, Granny....

    "I want my lawyer".

I hope this never happens to you but I would a whole lot rather that it did than that you were exploded mid-air.
