Acorn crimes spread accross the USA

An internal review had determined that the amount embezzled was $5 million, " the new subpoena says.

WOW OH WOW. 5 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know how much that is????

That' like one dollars plus another dollar, BUT 5 MILLION TIMES!!!!!!!!

RUN CHICKEN LITTLE, RUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!!!!!!!

Let me point out that Republicans spent more than 40 million dollars and thousands of man hours trying to link the Clinton's to some land deal. Even today, idiot Republicans believe the Clinton's were "guilty" of "something" and many will even say they were found "guilty" of "something".

Bill Clinton has made over one hundred and nine million dollars from just speaking engagements. George Bush gets 100,000 dollars for each 40 minutes speech as a "motivational speaker".

As a best selling author (who actually writes his own books - not like Sarah Palin), once Obama leaves office, he will make tens of millions. I bet, as the first black president, he will double or triple what Clinton made.

The definition of insanity is when someone does the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Republicans already tried this with Clinton. It was take a real drooling idiot to accuse Obama of settling for "peanuts" when a "thinking person" knows he will make tens of millions at the minimum.

So one stupid act negates defrauding the taxpayer. Okaaaaaaaay.

What an absolutely fucking stupid justification. Seriously! I'm dumbfounded. Wow! You must have chugged a good amount of koolaid today! You need to pee yet? :cuckoo:

Just curious. What amount of Acorn's budget is funded by taxpayers.
What does Acorn do?

Republicans are way more upset over Acorn, than say, Enron. Enron lost billions of money from retirement accounts and fraud.

Ask Republicans what Acorn does, they don't even know. Ask how much money they get from the Federal Government? Once again, no idea.

They just like to spew the '"talking points". Acorn is peanuts.

You guys cry about a few raindrops when there is a tsunami coming.

Are you asking what ACORN purports to be doing, the reason they get funding? Or what in actuality is being done with the money? Seems that's the purpose of the investigations.

New York ACORN Front Group Based in New Orleans Gets Taxpayer Money

Email to friendPrinter-friendlyOne of the defining hallmarks of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, is its propensity for using front organizations to advance its goals. The New Orleans-based nonprofit organization has fully 360 subsidiary and adjunct groups. Lately, one of its affiliates, a misleadingly-named nonprofit entity called New York Agency for Community Affairs, Inc. (NYACA), has been at the center of attention. A recent probe by a consortium of New York City newspapers shows NYACA thus far in this year alone has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from New York state and local taxpayers for political campaign services. In many cases, the lawmakers who earmarked the funds had been locked in close re-election campaigns that used NYACA volunteers. It's no small wonder that NYACA and ACORN overlap to the point of being nearly indistinguishable.

NYACA and its ACORN alter ego have made out well. Examining tax forms, lobbying records, campaign finance reports, and contracts, researchers found that in 2009, NYACA has received $175,000 from eight state senators, $240,500 from 10 state assemblymen, and $85,000 from four New York City Council members. For 2006, NYACA reported a little over $1.3 million in revenues, almost all from government. That same year, the group paid out nearly $1.2 million for "contractual services" to ACORN and another $67,000 in direct grants. And in 2007, NYACA received more than $730,000 in government support, sending $711,152 of that to ACORN.

So a few hundred thousand dollars and that's the "big money"? Sarah Palin spends that much on Republican financed clothes. Come on people, grow up!

Do you realize what you are saying? :doubt:

He is saying he is a flipping idiot. But then we already new Deany was an idiot.

ACORN is clearly a criminal enterprse and one equally clearly engaged in suborning democracy but because they work for the Democratic left idiots like deany don't care.

Liberals would tell you dog shit dont stink if dog shit voted democrat.

I guess you people have no sense of humor when it comes to Obama.

Either way Obama represented ACORN some years ago, maybe more than once. It was the case where ACORN forced banks to sell houses to people who could not afford them, I think Community Reinvestment Act was the name. Obama also used ACORN during his presidential campaign.

Should the Justice Department investigate voter fraud in the presidential race, I should quote the fool who asked what crime. Voter fraud is serious, voter fraud is a federal crime.

As far as Clinton goes, the money spent, Clinton was guilty of many crimes, so he got away with crime, no big deal, its just the president, anyhow Clinton pleaded guilty to perjury, which for a sitting president is pretty bad.

Some women claim rape, no big deal, how many people went to jail during the investigation, dozens, we could make a list, one gal refused to testify and spent a year in jail, her husband died in jail. So the Clintons were dirty enough to have tons of people go to jail that they worked with.

well there ya have it, youre a thief and a liar.

I guess the film evidence, from several ACORN offices, wasn't enough for you, huh?
The film "evidence" shows ACORN workers being idiots, not a massive conspiracy. The only law broken on camera was the questionable claim of tax fraud.

Or not even the embezzlement convictions for the Rathkes?
Yeah, that's a lie. Neither Wade Rathke, who is entirely unconnected to the embezzlement, nor his brother Dale (who embezzled the money) have been convicted of anything at all.

But by all means, keep trying.

True, he has not been arrested, tried or convicted. Why is that, I wonder. It may not bother liberals that taxpayers money has been stolen but taxpayers may feel differently.

True.

True.

I wonder why it took so long for the State to decide to start siezing material from ACORN?

It's a case of the "ends justifies the means". If ACORN was backed by the RNC or even was legitimately registering voters in a non partisan fashion, would the left be appalled by their criminal behavior? Of course. They'd all turn into a bunch of church ladies like they did when Bristol got pregnant and Sanford had an affair. It would be comical, if it weren't so important.

But the far right cannot use this in an effort to "take down the president". The motive for investigating and prosecuting these criminals must be in the interest of justice, not politics IMHO. If the connections exist, they will surface on their own.

Too true!

It's the total unconcern about inappropriate behavior that stuns me constantly. Voter registration fraud, they say 'well no votes were actually fraudulently cast'. So what? It's voter registration fraud. Key word: fraud - that's illegal.

Embezzlement - well, it's not a huge amount of money. So what? I don't care if it was $500 or $5m, it's taxpayers money. Key word: embezzlement - that's illegal.

ACORN is not only misusing public funds (ie taxpayers money), it is also damaging the small community organizations under its umbrella and worse still... damaging the most vulnerable in our society - the very ones it proports to help.

I really don't get how anyone who claims to care about the less fortunate can justify the actions of ACORN.

I guess the film evidence, from several ACORN offices, wasn't enough for you, huh?

Wrong. It shos them committing serious criminal acts, nopt merely being flunky fuck-ups.

Yeah, that's a lie. Neither Wade Rathke, who is entirely unconnected to the embezzlement, nor his brother Dale (who embezzled the money) have been convicted of anything at all.

I stand corrected on the convicted part. Still, were we talking about such behavior from high officials at PNAC, Cato or Heritage, the shrieking from the left would drown out the jet noise at O'Hare.

Fact remains is that criminal activity at ACORN is the norm, not an isolated incident.
