This should be interesting to see how scatterbrained liberals could possibly come up with something against this journalistic GEM.

I seem to recall the Reagan lovefest lasted at least a week when he passed away - why is there such vitriol over another President being honored in such a similar way?

Heck, as I recall digging in the recesses of my memory, even Nixon got a week of attention when he passed in the early 90s - although he didn’t lie in state at the Capitol, his memorial was attended by all living Presidents and many dignitaries and media coverage about him was thick for at least a week.

The Willy Horton ad was wrong for two reasons.

First ot blamed the Democrat for a program that he did not manage, Second it's intent was fear from the evil black man.

Compared to today campaign ads it pales.

The ad should not have been run for these reasons & Bush probably did not need it.

FALSE! Dukakis gets blame for letting Willie Horton out of prison because he CHOSE to veto a bill that would have kept Horton in prison - as such he was involved in the management of this issue. As Ann said .. even Dukakis' own Democratic legislature in liberal Massachusetts, had tried to reverse a state Supreme Court decision granting furloughs to first-degree murderers. Instead of signing the bill, he sent Horton out on to the streets. This furlough policy existed solely because of Dukakis.

Also false is the statement about the Bush campaign ad being about "fear from the evil black man" As usual, when all else fails, liberals go to their old reliable charge > racism. But Quite the contrary, the Bush campaign kept race out of the campaign ad. Horton's picture wasn't in it, nor was any black person at all. Instead, the ad showed a "revolving prison door" with only all-white criminals passing through it.
