Where did Torrance go wrong? This is the next small city over from where Nancy Reagan lives, off of the Palos Verde Penninsula, just inland two or three miles from the Pacific Ocean. City of Torrance got postage to report the receipt of the award of $1.00. Redondo Beach is along the coast-line itself, home to the "Gold Coast," and so it got $423,000.00: Almost as much as one family, there, makes in a year.

Moving upward, the County of Los Angeles has 9.0 mil people, and even more. The top award, to the bus systems, is 9% of what University of California got, for a few hundred thousand people. County of Los Angeles aside from the Bus System, did get $11,054.00. It is not entirely clearly who that was, much less who would admit to it.

University of California, which blew its own bucks--and intentionally caused the downturn, (See just its COLA, year after year), is listed as getting $717,500,000. Again, the Los Angeles County Bus System got $68.0 mil, about 9% of that, for its 9.0 mil. people. No doubt UC faculty will now get raises. The future of bus drivers, and mechanics, is not quite so clear. There is management, you know. A hybrid new bus costs $500,000, with $60,000.00 batteries not included: If that is even what the money is for.

Separate from those totals, Los Angeles Unified School District got $829, 086, 696.00. The Governor's Office of Planning and Research got $2,004,867,732.00, no doubt being smarter than anybody: What with an MBA, and all--Just like Bush. That is not just a small step for a man. That appears to be one giant jack boot for all mankind!

This is not a drill, and in fact: Possibly Wall Street investors got copies, just today!

Vice President Biden wants to take credit for this. California is, after all, solidly Democratic, and Senator Finestein, apparently, is really old, (and possibly a victim of some nature of name-calling abuse--Yet to Come!). Anyone guesses that Israel is like this, and especially if Palestine is taken into account.

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(The Burbank Glendale Pasadena Airport Authority, which runs the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, CA , at least got its $2,088,614.00. Her Majesty's former subjects--do stand out in the crowd, apparently!)

In California, this is where $2.0 bil of the stimulus money went:

About OPR

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) plays a critical role in the Schwarzenegger Administration, providing legislative and policy research support for the Governor’s office. OPR also assists the Governor and the Administration in land-use planning and manages the Office of the Small Business Advocate.
OPR encompasses five main units:

The State Clearinghouse
The Legislative Unit
The Policy and Research Unit
The Office of Small Business Advocate
Advisory for Military Affairs
The State Clearinghouse
The State Clearinghouse carries out three primary functions: to coordinate the state level review of environmental documents pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); to provide technical assistance on land use planning and CEQA matters; and to coordinate state review of certain federal grants programs.

The Legislative Unit
The OPR Legislative Unit provides analyses and recommendations to the Governor on a range of legislative issues. The OPR Legislative Unit works in concert with the Legislative Affairs Unit in the Governor’s office to ensure that the Governor receives a balanced and comprehensive review of pending legislation.

The Policy and Research Unit
The OPR Policy and Research unit carries out a program of policy research for the Governor and his Cabinet. This forward-thinking team of researchers crafts cutting-edge policy proposals that help advance the Governor’s vision to create the first 21st century government in California.

The Office of the Small Business Advocate
The Small Business Advocate (SBA) is appointed by the Governor to represent the views and interests of small businesses in state government. The SBA’s efforts help ensure that California small businesses remain competitive and sustain economic growth in the markets and communities they serve.

In other words, they are probably lawyers!
