ABC's Charles Gibson on Ron Paul

Ok, I rescind that I thought you were 'spinning.' You are here to enlighten and share the vision you have that Ron Paul. The fact that he lent his name and collected monies for nearly 2 decades, admitting he had no clue to who was writing the newsletters, what they were saying, and only got around to explaining that he didn't 'necessarily agree' with it all a few years ago is ok. For those reasons or in spite of those reasons, you feel he is qualified to lead the United States of America and are proud of your convictions.

In spite of, actually.

But I don't perceive what you perceive about this.

I don't have to PERCEIVE that the rest of the candidates in the field flip flop whatever position they have to for a vote, or flat out lie. I can physically verify that by simply LISTENING to them, or checking their records. I don't have to PERCEIVE that Giuliani has corrupt ties to foreign governments, because I've already seen the proof. I don't have to PERCEIVE that Huckabee is blatantly misusing his religious beliefs to win the office of the POTUS. And I don't have to PERCEIVE that the entire crop of Democratic candidates, minus maybe Kucinich (although I don't agree with his domestic policy), are really just authoritarian socialists and communists in sheeps clothing, because they have records that INDICATE THAT.

You on the other hand, must PERCEIVE what you feel about Ron Paul, because you don't have anything except internet links to op-ed's, random pictures, and a few misunderstood quotes.

The good part is, this is America, and you're entitled to that perception. The bad part is, you'll probably be giving your vote to a liar, a flip flopper, or a fascist.

By all means though Kathianne, pick whoever you PERCEIVE as least racist.

Ok, you want me to 'defend' a whole lot of candidates that I don't, for reasons that you ARE trying to spin. You are challenging me to provide links for or against your accusations, which of course you've not provided, other than YOU HAVE PROOF. Funny thing, not one of those you mention are my current choice. Yet, I have problems with all of them, but feel no compunction to slam them the way I have Ron Paul.

You say what I've provided was what you say, it wasn't and anyone can search the posts to find out who is telling the truth. I am not doing it all again.

In the past week alone, TNR, Reason Magazine, CNN via an interview with Paul, and Paul's own pathetic debate performance just went to prove what I've been saying for months.

Paul is toast, as I believe many have said, that he was never a serious contender was true. His being toast has little to do with the light being shown on dangerous undercurrents here, today in the USA. He's 'campaign' brought together many of the worst elements and gave them a common goal. You should be so proud.

Let me say something though Kathianne...

I sure hope after all this crap about how you feel Ron Paul is racist because of some of the things he said, that you also wouldn't consider voting for John McCain, after seeing THIS.

Because that would be quite the double standard.

McCain is not close to my first choice. I've also had some dealings with him. Could I vote for him? Probably, if my choices on the other side were Edwards, Obama, or Clinton. There are differences, which wasn't the topic under discussion, but ntl an interesting diversion.

Not a diversion at all. I'll talk Ron Paul all day, I enjoy it. But you're spending all this time trying to shed light on an issue you have with Ron Paul and his campaign, meanwhile the so-called new front-runner, and possible Republican nominee, is probably just as bad...and CURRENT with it. I mean, he's actually on record stating a racial epithet. Do you have RP calling anyone a **** or a ******?

You know, truthfully, I think your 2 MAIN problems are that you know Ron Paul wouldn't aid Israel the way you would like the US to, and that's a personal issue for you. Also, you are fascinated by the support, passion, and enthusiasm that Ron Paul's campaign has taken on, and it bewilders you how the other campaigns don't share in it.

I'm not going to go so far as to say that's what you're "in this" for, but it's certainly a suspicion I have from reading between the lines. Because believe me, I read your posts when they're about RP. You've been on my ass about him from the first day I joined this forum, and that was way before any of this racism crap came out in the mainstream. You spent a couple months discussing RP with me before you ever mentioned anything about this racism issue. It wasn't until this started making it to MSM that you started to mention it. Before THAT, it was all about his ties to 9/11 truthers.

All you've really done is parrot the MSM's flavor of the week attempts at discrediting Ron Paul.

Could you vote for RP if he was the only one left in the R field to go against the Dem?

McCains statement came straight out of the horses mouth..not from someone else connected to him in some way..there is not anything in Ron pauls own words , actions or voting record that is remotely racist

To the last question, NO! Seriously because of those letters and his backers. Now it's too late for any disavowals.

You resorted to vile language because 'I implied you said or meant such and such', yet you see no problem in saying what you did above. You really haven't a clue to my stands on Israel or Palestinian issues. No more than you do on my stance on how to address the threats, if any, from Putin. Not a clue to my ideas of where the European Union should go or what should be the US position on it.

I've never heard of anybody ever saying they didn't want to vote for someone because of their backers. I don't particularly like neocon voters, but they're not the reason I don't like the other Rep candidates. I just don't like their records. For the umpteenth time, RP has disavowed the accusations, and publicly said that he disagreed with many of his supporters' positions. Oddly enough, I haven't heard of ONE supporter YET state their discontent with him, or relinquish their support, in spite of this.

You said you'd vote for McCain if he was the nominee, rather than any of the dems. All that goes to show is that you're just a partisan voter, and a hypocrite as well. McCain spews ACTUAL RACISM, complete with actual epithets and derogatory terms, but you'd vote for him over RP who has never uttered a single racial epithet. Ok. That makes complete sense Kathianne.

What you just don't understand is that it's his MESSAGE that people are voting for. Ron Paul could keel over and die TOMORROW, and I guarantee you that his support will continue on with whomever is the next person to step up and carry on his message.

Ideas are bulletproof Kathianne.

You're telling me what I am and what I think deserves what you gave me, but I won't, because I'm better than you. I'm better in my thinking, in my choices and reasonings for voting the way I choose. Oh, you may not have recognized this yet, but that's IMO, and I have the right under the Constitution you and your crazy uncle supposedly so revere.

I didn't tell you what you are or what you think, I stated I had suspicions. I never made an insinuation the way you did to me. Besides, that was like 6 posts ago. You just quoted my last post which had nothing to do with that. You might want to keep up with what's current in the exchange we're having.

But here we go though. Now you're "better" than me. You know absolutely nothing about me, except that I'm a RP supporter, and maybe that I like sports and have fish tanks. And all we're doing is having a typical political discussion like any other, and you're resorting to calling yourself "better" than me.

You haven't liked me from day 1 Kathianne. You admit you don't like Ron Paul supporters, and I definitely get a personal vibe of that from you to me. That's about as prejudiced as you can get. The root word being prejudge, which is what you've done to me. I'm a RP supporter, so therefore it's impossible for you not to be condescending and contemptuous towards me, or any other RP supporter here.

You seriously are a product of your own hypocrisy.

Seriously, thankfully, the MSM is now doing the real job of what I was concerned about. I'll leave you alone. Enjoy.
