a was indecisive about binLaden mission

This is MORONIC. Obama made the decision. He legally is the ONLY one that could authorize the use of American troops in a Foreign Country. Especially an ALLY we are on short terms with and that does not like our intrusions.

There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO credibility to this claim.

Give it up.

Obama ordered the mission, he authorized the use of troops and he authorized the shooting of Bin Laden as a possibility in said mission. HE DESERVES CREDIT FOR HIS DECISIONS.

Once again it is totally impossible that the head of the CIA could order a military mission in to a Foreign Country that might result in the loss of American troops lives , the capture of American troops or equipment. Further it is IMPOSSIBLE that the head of the CIA could order such a mission into an Allies Country where that ally does not approve of such operations.
It's only impossible if it is known that the C in C disagrees with the orders.
You should be aware that you do what the lieutenant tells you until the Captain tells you different.

Wrong. The basic order to send troops into Pakistan would require a Presidential order. Any order to send armed troops into a compound inside the borders of Pakistan would require a Presidential order. Any order to kill people inside Pakistan BY on the ground US troops would require a Presidential order.

A local commander can not simply wake up one morning and order troops into a foreign Sovereign nation. And the CIA director can not do so either. Basic concepts and facts. No such order is legal or valid unless it is issued with the CONSENT and AUTHORITY of the President. No officer would accept such orders without some basic assurance that the President had ordered it.

It is, theoretically, possible for a local commander to go rogue and exceed his orders, but there was no way this operation went off without a direct order from Obama.

how Obama had shaped the final assault plan.

“I don’t want you to plan for an option that doesn’t allow you to fight your way out,” the President told operational planners at the meeting, according to the notes of one participant.

The backup landed to lift its passengers to safety. “The President created the ‘fight your way out’ option,” explained an administration official.

Obama Pushed for ‘Fight Your Way Out’ Option in bin Laden Raid

Do you really think he was the first to think of that? You really ARE insane.

To be fair, some of the crowd Obama runs with probably wanted them to bring flowers and a nice invitation for bin Laden to come address the UN about how evil the US is.
Who would that be? I didn't know that you "ran" with Obama.

After Bush said, "Truly I'm not concerned with Bin Laden. I just don't care". .

But you have to credit Bush with following his words with the actions to match them. President Puss appeased Pakistan and Musharraf, and in a very Jimmy Carter-esque move, told Special Ops and military forces not to cross into Pakistan.

The Republicans who defend Puss are not Conservatives, they're defending a liberal policy just because the person implementing it had an "R" next to his name.

Bush said he didn't think about Bin Laden. Then he disbanded the Special CIA unit dedicated to getting Bin Laden. So I guess he did follow his words with the actions to match them.

Has anyone seen this?
Q: You stated that President Obama was “overruled” by military/intelligence officials regarding the decision to send in military specialists into the Osama Bin Laden compound. Was that accurate?

A: I was told – in these exact terms, “we overruled him.” (Obama) I have since followed up and received further details on exactly what that meant, as well as the specifics of how Leon Panetta worked around the president’s “persistent hesitation to act.” There appears NOT to have been an outright overruling of any specific position by President Obama, simply because there was no specific position from the president to do so. President Obama was, in this case, as in all others, working as an absentee president.

Oh

My

Gawd

You just made sense. My world is reeling. I take back half of those things I thought about you. I apologize.

You should know this anonymous guy who claims to be a "white house insider" citing anonymous sources, has been known to completely fabricate stories out of whole cloth, inventing names of people and businesses that never existed, been caught so many times in outright lies, it's hard to count, but he does have a dramatic flair, and leaves enough literary breathing space in the "it could have happened minds" of the gullible wingers.

For example, a couple stories he pushed had the inside scoop about how Michelle Obama won't touch white people because she is a racist...oh and the one about Obama murdering his former gay lovers before the 2008 election was top notch.

In the hysterical, crazy world of who can write some great fiction that cons will actually believe department, this anonymous guy is a winna!

We all know that there is a serious problem with transparency going on. Because of this fake stories can be floated and cause confusion.

I don't believe the story, but I do feel it's highly plausible.

At Ft Campbell yesterday I saw the way the President tried to get a Mission Accomplished moment going when he walked in that hanger. He was shaking hands with soldiers when he walked in the door. The soldiers were polite, but not acting like they were overly thrilled to be there. Somebody gave him a football jersey with the 101st Screaming Eagle patch on the shoulders. It was a nice touch.

I was there the last time Bush visited Ft Campbell Dec 08'. He showed up at 9:30 am ran up on the stage, thanked us and walked into the crowd to shake hands and thank everyone he could. He showed up on time. Obama was late and everyone had to wait a couple of hours to get out of the area. Bush had us out of there by 12pm. Obama, 6pm. Most of the guys just wanted a half a day off, yet they had to wait around for Obama to do his spiking of the football deal.

What a thrill. Just saying.

Soldiers have discipline because they are professionals. They are not eager school girls jumping up and down in anticipation. Overt displays of emotion are frowned upon.

Don't try reading your prejudices into a situation you obviously know nothing about.

Do you really believe this was so "spur of the moment" that any commissioned officer could "order" it to happen without practice or planning? Remember this isn't Iraq.

Complete BS being spread by a UK blogger named Ulsterman who claims that he has an un-named inside source at the White House.

Obama is on 60 minutes right now talking about the Bin Laden mission.

He said at the very beginning of his term, he personally told the CIA to rev up the hunt for Bin Laden. He said the first info was brought to him last August. He said he told them, "As you develop the intel, also develop an action plan". He said he was as involved in this plan from the very beginning.

He said he received a lot of flack because he said if it was discovered Bin Laden was in Pakistan, he would go for it.

I remember when he said that , Republicans used that as "proof" on why he didn't have enough experience to be president. Turns out, once again, he was right, they were wrong.
