Their excuses were all politically motivated. So one group of soldiers don't get acknowledgement because another group are still in a different theatre. Meanwhile the first group, who is home, gets to watch the spectacle of uneducated athletes getting the recognition they should have for real accomplishments and sacrifices.

It's just wrong and sends a terrible message.
