A Thousand Words

From the author:
“This is a book not about the decline of America but rather about the rise of everyone else,” I note at the very outset. I am optimistic about America, convinced that it can prosper in this new world and remain the most powerful country on the planet. But I argue that the age of American unipolarity — which began with the collapse of the Soviet Union — has ended. For a quarter-century after the collapse of communism, the United States dominated the world with no real political or economic competitors. Its ideas and its model — the Washington consensus — became received wisdom everywhere.

Today we are in a different era. In 1990, China represented 2 percent of global gross domestic product. It has quadrupled, to 8 percent, and is rising. By most estimates, China’s economy will become the world’s largest between 2016 and 2018.

The post-American world demands a new approach from the U.S. - The Washington Post

Zakaria's book, published last year, isn't some kind of apocalyptic vision of a world "after America," as the e-mail claims, but rather it posits that while countries such as China and India are rising, America has a leading role in the new global era. Zakaria writes in the first chapter: "This is a book not about the decline of America but rather about the rise of everyone else. It is about the great transformation taking place around the world, a transformation that, though often discussed, remains poorly understood."

So? Do you realize how gas prices work?
If you blame Obama, then you have no idea... Good example, gas prices are always cheaper in January then they are in say April and May. Do you know why gas prices go up in the Sping, and go down after May?
Do you also understand that we buy less oil from foreign countries then we did when Bush was President?

Look up sanctions on Iran and China. Would you rather Obama let a middle eastern muslim country off the hook?

So compared to January 2012, prices are still very high. In fact, they are currently higher than last year and as you alluded to, they typically go higher when the summer blend switch occurs.

Gasoline prices have been pushed high by crude prices that have averaged $104 per barrel this year. World oil demand is expected to set a record this year and a series of production outages around the world have kept supplies low.

Oil rose to $110 as the West tightened sanctions on Iran in an effort to make it harder for that country to sell oil and pressure it to abandon its nuclear ambitions. Fears that retaliation by Iran could disrupt Middle Eastern supplies pushed oil prices up by as much as $15 per barrel, experts say.
Closer to home, there were concerns about restricted supplies of gasoline on the East Coast after three refineries closed and two more were set to be shuttered.

Oil prices have fallen in recent weeks. Iran and the West are negotiating, the growth in demand for oil has moderated, and world oil supplies are rising again thanks to more production from Saudi Arabia, Libya and the United States. Oil has fallen to $103.05 per barrel, down from a peak of $110.55 on March 1.

-- Potential buyers for the two East Coast refineries have emerged, so they are now expected to stay open.

So yeah, you could blame Obama. You know since he put sanctions on Iran to help stop them from developing nuclear weapons.

How is that going for you? Really, to stop Iranians? How about to advance his own green energy plan at the expense of middle class Americans? See, that is actually occurring, compared to Iranians still working on a nuclear Iran.

That will depend on who Romney picks for the VP slot.

High gas prices are tolerated by Obama, because it advances the green industry. So yes, it does effect gas prices.

Obama likes to criminalize normal activity.

Obama's actions caused higher gas prices. His goal is to start controlling the oil market the way he controls the insurance industry, a large portion of the auto industry, and the financial industry. Nothing he does is intended to improve the situation but is intended to gain control over it.

It's purely socialized/communist ideology. First they cause a crisis then they take another freedom away. Everything is meant to change us into a country of sheeple with no freedom of will, and he uses hate, prejudice, and class-envy to accomplish it.
