But you are correct: I am laying it in your lap because to deny individual sovereignty is to keep the child locked in the room. If I have a right to your kidney then the door stays locked. We all know Canada isn't a purely Socialistic Country, but it can still be used as an example. Sadly, this is a common question. The government continues to grow and yet many Americans no longer understand that there is a line between limited government and a free people. Take for instance education, business and health care. The Government has intruded in these areas to such a degree that the individual is left with few choices. In other words, the government controls what choices a person can make. When politicians pass laws and regulations to manage society, freedoms are lost. People are better off when they have more choices and can make their own decisions.

I'm curious, in what way do you see that people have few choices in education? I think pure socialism or pure capitalism are over-the-top ideologies rather than practical economic systems. Let's take the guy who made Tetris, he didn't know it would become a huge success and he lived in Soviet Russia, so the commies took away most of the profits he was entitled to for making that game. What I'm trying to say is no matter what system you have people are going to stumble onto wealth and in socialism you have to take the wealth away and give it to everyone. It'd be like if I demanded money from you in monopoly because I'm losing it's just not fair (and no I'm not saying the goal in life/capitalism is to bankrupt your opponents).

Now let's go back to Tetris, don't you think it'd be fairer to give the guy who invented the game more of the profits than the guys who manufacture the cartridges? I do but oh no now he's making money off of people who are making less than him. Oops now we have to give the people who make the cartridges as much money. Wait a minute now the people who make those cartridges now make more money than the cartridge makers for other less popular games and they're doing the same work. What's a socialist to do? I guess the only feasible answer would be take all the extra profits from Tetris and give them to everyone. Yay Communism/Socialism.
