a spin on welfare

ahhh yes i love the voices of pro birthers who then want to kick the kids to the curb...

shut the fuck up you bunch of whiners....the biggest arm of welfare is aid to dependant children....

why do yall never discuss corporate welfare?

Eliminate corporate welfare too...

But in terms of these people who suck off the government and public tit... prove no expenditures on anything but the necessities... you can spend on a cell phone? you can spend on lunches for a kid for a month... you can spend on DirecTv? You can ensure that kid is clothed and clean.... You can buy a pack of smokes? You can buy school supplies.... You can spend money on illegal drugs? You should be placed in prison and have it ensured that you never gain 'welfare' again.

exactly right, people think they have to have certain things or they will be out of touch. if someone has to beg for money and at the same time is spending their cash on cell phones, internet, cable tv, drugs, porn, alchohol, smokes etc they are in reality stealing from their own childrens mouths. they could be buying more and better clothes, more/better food, more/better school supplies, all sorts of things that they dont have the money for because of wasteful spending. its no wonder they support deomcrats who keep filling their heads wiht the idea they can spend their way out of debt. fools beget fools.

welfare recipents, start investing in yourselves then you wont "need" the welfare, its the best thing you can ever do for yourself and your family..

We can see the system proliferates the problem. no reason not to change tactics.
it would require a adjustment period.

Here's why you're a liar, and know nothing about "the system." Most states are grossly understaffed in their social welfare departments, first because they pay shit, and second the client load is grueling, and third the case workers are expected to perform miracles (part-time cops, investigating fraud), for which they get ZERO appreciation. The turnover for these workers (at least in my state) is phenomenal. The states operate their "welfare" systems with federal grant money and must operate within federal guidelines unless waivers are given. So suggesting that anything is intentionally "proliferated" is pure horseshit. They barely have enough money to stretch from year to year, let alone throw parties with any extra that they don't spend.

yeah, everyone keeps telling you the system is fucked up then you twist like a pretzle to deny it. then you come back when the reason fits your closed minded view of life and repeat the things everyone has been saying to you in the first place as some sort of negation of the reality of those things.

what youve said boils down to is this, the government is in the way of the individual and it needs to get the fuck out of peoples lives and let them live life so they can stop being dependant on others to fill their cup.

In regards to the OT.........paying people not to breed......well here's a little tid bit for you to chew on....it's not as farfetched as you may think....

North Carolina Program Pays Girls a Dollar a Day Not to Get Pregnant
Thursday, June 25, 2009
By Joshua Rhett Miller

Print ShareThisA dollar a day keeps the babies away.

That's the incentive behind College Bound Sisters, a program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro that aims to keep 12- to 18-year-old girls in school and baby-free.

Girls in the program attend 90-minute meetings every week at which they receive lessons in abstinence and the use of contraceptives — and they receive $7 every week they do not get pregnant. The money is deposited into a fund that's collectible when they enroll in college.

But not everyone thinks paying kids to stay childless is the right way to lower the teen pregnancy rate. They say the program sends mixed messages, specifically to parents, that incentivizing good behavior is the way to go.

"It makes me a bit uneasy," said Bill Albert, chief program officer at the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. "I do have mixed feelings. It's hard to pay people to do something that we think they should be doing regardless. It would be like if you didn't want young people to experiment with marijuana, you'd pay them not to do it."

So where do you propose to start? IF we kicked everyone off welfare with a wave goodbye and the usual "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" kissoff, where would the bodies be buried? You assume that EVERYONE on "welfare" is a fuck-up. And that's the part that simply isn't true. But I no longer feel the urge to educate closed-minded idiots, so think what you want.

The irony of this thread is that more and more people are needing to take advantage of existing "welfare" programs because of high unemployment, and they are damned glad these social programs exist. Are Democrats the only ones hit by this current wave of unemployment? Or are there a fair share of Republicans (or whatever you call yourselves these days) also thanking their lucky stars that the food stamp program exists, LIHEAP, government retraining programs, temporary assistance for the homeless, etc.??

People at 185 percent of the poverty level are eligible for fs. These are the working poor.

Also it is cheaper these days to have a cell phone than it is to have a land line. Hence the cell phone.

The nails, who knows. I knew a family who was on welfare whose mother was a beautician by trade. They spent hours every week at her house getting weaves and extensions and having little hair hats made, as well as having their nails done. Their mom did it for them, big fucking deal.

Welfare checks do not equal $$$$. And while any income given to a welfare recipient is counted as income and affect benefits, when people pay their bills directly or provide them with things, it doesn't count. I have many families whose relatives pay their phone bills, because they worryabout them and want them to have a phone. Likewise, I have many who drive the cars of relatives and friends.

The one program that is well funded (and which, incidentally, costs us less than any other program) is the foodstamp program. People who have foodstamps often will buy high-end items, because that's the only way they can treat themselves and their families.

Welfare is not a way to live high on the hog. There are incidents of fraud, but it really isn't that prevalent. People are just so prejudiced against the poor that they look at every action as suspect.

The fraud is wide and deep.as you documented in your post .

If you dont think their are cash benefits, and that those as well as foodstamps are wasted on potato chips candy smokes and drinks and big screen TV you need to stand next to me at work.

you start by purging the system, instead of making wimpering excuses and wringing your hands.

Well Maggie. If we didn't have the deadbeats and freeloaders we wouldn't need the system would we??? If the irresponsible out there didn't have a free ride then we wouldn't need the system, would we??? Its not the kids fault but it sure as hell ain't mine and the other taxpayers either. Why the hell should I work two jobs to make ends meet in my household only to have my tax dollars support a bunch of deadbeat, irresponsible, kid ladened assholes with not one iota of responsibility for the cost of raising their kids. Its easy to have kids when someone else if footing the bills for you and you never have to pay back one dollar that it took to take care of your kids.

Welfare was iinstituted back at the end of WW II for the many widows and orphans. It was never meant to do what it does today. Take care of deadbead and freeloaders.
