if there's some ponds around your area. Simply trench thru the dam, leaving a foot or so of water in the pond. Be ready to use the shovel to spear or club the beaver, gator, nutria, snapping turtles, muskrats, etc, that flee the dropping water level. Leave the fish til last. They aint going anywhere and they (and the gut piles) will lure in a lot of dogs, cats, coons, etc, that you can silently shoot or trap/snare.

Make sure you use suppressed dynamite, so nobody hears you draining their pond and stealing all their fish.

I used to live near a boat launch.

At night, you could chum up bait with dry catfood, then cast and catch big bass.

Even got a 40 lb flathead cat.

There are plenty of ways to catch fish without taking out the pond.

And while you are digging a trench, you aren't holding your rifle. In SHTF situations, someone will take your ass out.
