[Rome apparently had the misfortune of having more than a few Emperors of the competence and quality level of Barack Hussein Obama before it met its eventual dismal end. Since the succession process at that time depended more on palace intrigue than the will of the people, its fate was directly sealed as a consequence.
Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Al) forwarded a letter to Obama recently reminding him of America's capacity to do great things, even with our energy supply.

"I respectfully disagree that we cannot utilize our remarkably vast untapped energy reserves to provide Americans with much-needed relief. I reject the defeatist view that says the nation that won two world wars, pioneered space travel, and overcame the Soviet Empire is now helpless in the face of high prices at the pump."

In all likelihood Senator Sessions letter made its way into the Oval Office circular file quite rapidly since Barack Obama's much touted "Fundamental Transformation Of America" requires a state of social malaise and unrest in this country roughly equivalent to that endured by the typical Russian serf at the time of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 to allow both Barack Obama and Van Jones and Stephen Lerner duo to jointly crush the American Constitution and the American way of life "From the top down and the bottom up"

[More Government by ctl-shft-etr Should we grow the alage first or inflate the tires?]

"I'm confused, do we inflate the tires first, or grow the algae? I’ve got it, maybe we can use algae to make tires which then will be inflated to save algae.

Being algae neutral is the ultimate solution to our pressing energy problem."

[Nov 2008 was a 53 to 47 result, turning three votes gives you a tie. The feel out there, today, isn't the same as 2008. Most of the 2008 Obama voters behaved as if they were floating around on their magic carpets like male dogs who had picked up the scent of female in heat. Not so today, even in this very blue state, the grousing is louder and more plentiful. Obama is no longer an enigma, his ineptitude is as plain as the outstretched ears on the side of his head, and can no longer be hidden, no matter how many times Newsweek photoshops his picture for its cover. If Obama does happen to win, its quite likely to be the result of widespread election fraud and theft similar to that which occurred in the Washington St gubernatorial election between Christine Gregoire and Dino Rossi (R) where bags of uncounted Democratic ballots were continually being recovered from the upper branches of that states fabled Sequoias and Redwoods for weeks afterwards and the Minnesota Senatorial race between Al Franken and Norm Coleman (R) when the recount suddenly began turning up overlooked and uncounted Democratic ballots from inside the headliners and spare tires of Democratic election workers cars.
There are simply a lot of people who have had the wool removed from in front of their eyes and can see for themselves just how bad Obama is, in contrast to 2008. You guys have a lot of stealing to do in front of you before you can celebrate January 20, 2013. The pollster, in this instance, Quinnipiac, deliberately culls out the most Conservative elements of its sample as well. People like me, are simply avoided like the plague by the pollster and not sampled ]

"Politico looks at why President Obama’s approval ratings seem to be lagging increased consumer confidence about the economy:

A new poll shows President Barack Obama is not getting a heavy burst of support from good feelings about the economy as he heads into his reelection campaign. Quinnipiac released a poll Thursday showing that 54 percent believe the economy is getting better, compared with 28 percent who thought that in September. Obama’s job approval, meanwhile, has remained relatively stagnant in recent months, going from 44 percent in November to 45 percent now. His disapproval rate is the same at 49 percent."

"Very reassuring.

Via Beltway Confidential:

Will President Obama do something about high gas prices? No, argued Deputy White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest today.

Earnest insisted that there was no “short term solution” for cheaper gas, other than the president’s payroll tax cut and refused to discuss releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves.

“If there was a magic wand you could wave, one of the presidents would have waved it,” said Earnest arguing that high gas prices were not a new problem.

“Anyone who says that they can wave a wand or plant the magic beans to lead to a reduction in oil prices is just not telling the truth,” he added."
