A Romney/Biden Presidency?

Unlikely, but if it should work out that we have a Romney/Biden Presidency. . . .

  • That could be a good thing.

    Votes: 5 71.4%
  • That would be very bad.

    Votes: 2 28.6%
  • That would end the republic as we know it.

    Votes: 0 0.0%

  • Total voters
    7

Assuming that the solidly red states will stay red and the solidly blue states will stay blue, and focusing on the toss up battleground states:

It is conceivable that if the vote goes a certain way, Romney and Obama could tie with 269 electoral college votes each.

If that should happen, the House will choose the President. The Senate will choose the Vice President.

We could see a Romney/Biden Presidency.

if that did happen might not be worst thing as force congress to work together no doubt and in fact might be easier for romney to get things done as dems might not be able to complain as much with vp who a dem

but doubt this happen

But that WOULD also require a 50/50 split of GOP Senators and Dim/Socialist Senators.

Hopefully, the Senate will be firmly in GOP hands. And that would translate into NO tie breaker vote from Plugs!

I think that's what I just said.

:D

yeah I would love that actually, just to see democrats RAGE with anger as Boehner casts the deciding vote for President and then watching Joe be VP would be hilarious....he cant do much, which is good, but he would be very very entertaining

It is not mathematically impossible that the GOP will take back the Senate but I'm not holding my breath that it will happen. So of course the possibility posed in the OP assumes the Senate will retain a Democratic majority.

However, if the Senate did choose Biden, he may be a goofball and has put his personal values on the back seat in order to be a good team player, I believe he does love his country and, when the chips are down, will usually do the right thing. I think Romney can probably work with anybody though he would be bitterly disappointed in not having the bright, competent, knowledgeable Ryan at his side.

Could Biden work with anybody?

romney would probally love it as biden be fall guy and ryan could then serve in more bigger role then vp can be.

i think joe biden could in my view. he worked across congress with likes of john mccain on bills.

also paul ryan might be happeir not being a vp but someone with major task like ecnomics or secturary of state.

It is going to be a GOP Senate.

The polls seem to indicate otherwise right now, but the polls are largely crap.

Mitt is coming in with long solid coat tails!

if true well done on both presidnetial and senate victories if they happen

Biden has no inherent loyalty to obama. It doesn't matter. Biden would be there gaffing away no matter who was president.

And even with a 50/50 Senate split, as long as the EC doesn't fuck things up, the future Vice President will be Ryan.

So tie breakers in the Senate for legislative matters (like rescinding all of Obamacare) will come down to Ryan casting the deciding Senate vote (assuming we can get past a filibuster).

Getting to AT LEAST a fifty fifty split in the Senate is CRUCIAL.
