1. There is science…and then there is science. David Gross, particle physicist, once proclaimed ‘Physics is the Queen of Science.’ Most agree, due to the special language it speaks, mathematics, and the nature of the questions with which it deals.

2. Once we agree that psychology hardly fits a definition of 'science,' shouldn’t we ask why such a hit-or –miss , slapdash jumble of theories and procedures has such an inordinate authority over children?

3. There are short, simple answers to why and how these “scientists” assumed control over our children….but the truth is part of a much larger picture. A major impetus of Progressive ideology was a belief in a new branch of government, peopled by ‘nonpartisan’ experts and bureaucrats….and the school system is a branch of government.
And guess who rules the school system: Progressives.

a. Frank Goodnow, a president of Johns Hopkins University, pioneered with Woodrow Wilson a science of administration separated from the limits of constitutional government. 3. Once again, current science knows less than shit about how the brain works. Yet we have pills that are supposed to fix the brain? How can you fix an engine without knowing how each and every part of it works? Oh, you may be able to add some coolant, because that part is easy to understand, and change a battery or plug a leak, but definitely shouldn't go adding parts, using new fuels to see if it'll run, and trying to rebuild another engine from scratch.
4. Back to Doctors. Do you think your kid's shrinks studied the medication? That they were in the lab testing and developing? Heh. Hell no....."

Killers don't really need prescribed psychotropic drugs, they are capable of getting drugs on their own. It's called self-medicating and liberals want to make it legal.

Anybody can self medicate but the irony is when the state forces kids to take drugs in order to modify their behavior. Indications are that the Columbine killers were on school administered mood altering meds but the media didn't address the problem for obvious reasons. Adolescent reaction to mood altering drugs is unpredictable. Sometimes it turns the kids into the zombies the school likes and sometimes the kids flip out....permanently. Stop smoking drug warnings include cautions about "thoughts of suicide". Of course they wouldn't include a caution about thoughts of murder but it's a similar condition.

It could be that some politicians are just doing favours for their rich pharma friends.

I will agree that the over prescription of drugs to children is a real problem, but this is easily explained by the workings of a freemarket economy, one that needs to be regulated.
