A read on Saudi reform and reboot

The Saudi "reform" thing seems to me more akin to a family feud than anything else. Saudi Arabia is a monarchy and not a constitutional monarchy as is, for example, Great Britain. As as monarchy, the members of the Saʿūd family are the holders of power over and the owners of everything having to do with the official organs, property and institutions of the state. What's corrupt about a king or prince doing as they see fit with that which is theirs?

One need not like that everything is "their sh*t," but the fact remains that it is. While Trump behaves as though "everything" in the U.S. is about him, in Saudi Arabia, everything having to do with the state is about the Saʿūd family and its members.
