I’m of the opinion that New Hampshire solved the laboratory of democracy riddle a long time ago. The smallest government with the lowest taxes is ranked 1st in quality of life, 1st for child well-being and has the lowest poverty rate in the Union. Seems clear enough.

So, If the results of the laboratory experiment aren’t painfully obvious, let’s shake the beakers. Face it, the ideological differences between liberals and conservatives are irreconcilable, and its unconscionable to subject one to the bad ideas of the other against their will. Public debate is getting us nowhere because both sides are buried in their own propaganda. We need to actually see the tangible results of unfettered liberalism and unfettered conservatism. So, next presidential election, let both candidates win. Let the republican run the red states and the democrat run the blue states. Split the congress. There’s more than enough “representatives” to go around. Let the liberals try to create their socialist welfare utopia without the republican dime and see what happens. Let the republicans build their corporatist warfare empire without the democrat dime and see where it gets them.

Oh, but I think we can do better.

I could go for it, because until people see with their own eyes what our current system is heading for, we will continue down the path to financial ruin.

Let the republican run the red states and the democrat run the blue states.
We've been doing that for awhile now...Guess which states needed the NEA/AFT bailout that Barry Obolshevik just signed?

No, you only get one guess.

I'm guessing the Soviet Socialist Republic of California was first on the list... I gotta get out of here.

For every federal dollar given to Blue states, they pay MORE than a dollar to the government.

For every federal dollar given to Red states, they pay LESS than a dollar to the government.

The best universities and colleges. The high tech. The degrees. Vegetable crops. Fruit crops. Factories. All in Blue states.

There are two realities.

One reality is the Conservative Confederate Republican Party of Teabags where the earth is only a few thousand years old and "edumacation" is only a "piece of paper".

Then there is the reality made up of the rest of America.

I take it you support the experiment then?

I lived in NH for close to 20 years.

Tough, independent bunch of folks. "Live free or Die" is the State motto.

NH is one of the few States left in the Union with no State Income tax and no State sales tax. High Property taxes but a good way of life. Summers are great. Winters are damned cold.

I lived in the Northern part of the State. In the White Mountains. the Berlin, Gorham area. Not to many jobs up there or my ass would be back in NH.

As for your experiment. I doubt the blue states would make out very well. You can't have a welfare, nanny State without someone to supply the tax dollars to support all.

The Red States would make out better I think.

Would be an interesting experiment.

The blue states would continue to be free, and the red states would enslave the population to their corporations.

Next thing ya know? Wars are breaking out because the corporate military machine decides that it needs more land, resources and power, and they also need slaves.

Ever see the movie Southland Tales? It would be kinda like that.

i'm sure you've got all the *realities* you want

with the sole exception of texas, i think red states live off blue states and that that is the issue dragging on blue state finance. while this experiment is interesting, it would only be accurate if the states were isolated with different currencies... but the yankees won that bit.
