Actually there was a time in journalism where OBJECTIVITY was primary.
I know because when I was taking journalism classes in the 60s most of the instructors wanted journalism to be "professional" i.e. based on skills, intelligence,etc. BUT during the 60s when I was in journalism classes there were classmates like me that were more inclined towards a Students For Democratic Society/Weathermen agenda and NOW these same "get the man" mentality is in positions of as Evan Thomas Editor of NewsWeek who should know said:
"There is a liberal bias. It's demonstrable. You look at some statistics. About 85 percent of the reporters who cover the White House vote Democratic, they have for a long time. There is a, particularly at the networks,
at the lower levels, among the editors and the so-called infrastructure, there is a liberal bias.-
My point is that given 85% reporters vote and donate to Democrats their output is biased! Biased output means content that uninformed readers/viewers form opinions and therefore influence polling which directly influences politicians who VOTE!

For example.. Obamacare passed by ONLY 6 votes.
I am confident that one of those 6 still think there are 50 million "uninsured" which was repeatedly claimed by MSM and therefore readers/viewers believed...

YET.. HOW could anyone destroy healthcare based on reality that:
1) 10 million of the counted as "uninsured" are NOT CITIZENS!
2) 14 million people known to be covered by Medicaid are counted as "uninsured"
3) 18 million people making $50+K don't want even though the can afford..
BUT THEY are counted as part of the 50 million "uninsured" !

YET even you I'm sure in spite of simple math (42 million -not citizens,already covered and don't want to buy) means ONLY 8 million truly uninsured!

YET that false exaggerated number was used to pass Obamacare .. and NOW we are finding out what was in it after all remember Pelosi's "We have to pass it..."

AND THIS IS THE MSM bias at work!
Why for example does the MSM continue to use 50 million "uninsured"??
AN AGENDA!!!

I know you were asking TM's; I meant fair as it is meant by Fox News, of course. Isn't that implied in the phrase "fair and balanced"? I understand TM's point, and I understand healthymyth's comment frames TM's comment rather well. That said, the point was to draw the attention of the reader to how the issue of contraception is being 'debated' in Rep. Issa's committee today and how it is reported by the major news sources. I flip back and forth between CNN, MSNBC and FOX - do so can be very informative.
