The Sailor and The Carpenter [El Marinero y El Carpintero] Book One of Father Serra's Legacy.

This is a novel about the exploration of the Californias and the founding of the Franciscan missions, along with the cities of Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, and San Francisco.

Seen through the eyes of a marooned English sailor and a Mexican Indian who becomes his blood brother.
