A New Field in Education!

No surprise. The New York City school district is one of the worst performing in the country, yet one of the most expensive.
They were the best schools in the Nation when I went to school in Brooklyn....(decades ago )...when we moved toNew Jersey, my junior and senior year, I repeated in classes there, everything that I had already learned in the schools I went to in Brooklyn...my ENTIRE Junior and Senior years, I just twiddled my thumbs and learned NOTHING new in NJ.

I don't know what happened to change New York schools....when I went to school there, we were separated by our abilities to learn...I was in Honor courses....accelerated courses along with the other students that qualified for this accelerated level of learning...and every year we all had to pass State Regent exams for each course that we took and if we did not pass the State exam, we did not move forward, or had to go to summer school....take the exam again etc etc....

I honestly wonder what happened to change the quality of New York schools....?
