A new Contract "ON" America?

What's become more and more painfully apparent is the GOP's hypocrisy in wailing against the Dems and Obama as trying to destroy private industry and American job growth while ACTIVELY defending corporations that out source to foreign nations. Check this out:

Rep. Brady Acknowledges GOP Not Heeding ‘America Speaking Out,’ Will Ignore 2nd Most Popular Idea (Updated)

Today, Republicans will discuss their “Pledge to America,” the political agenda they plan to campaign on as they attempt to take control over the House of Representatives. The agenda is supposedly the culmination of a project GOP lawmakers launched — America Speaking Out — which was designed to give the public a virtual platform to submit ideas and then vote on them. As the Wonk Room’s Pat Garofalo reported last week, the second most popular item on the “job creation” section of America Speaking out was the user-submitted idea to “Stop the outsourcing of jobs from America to other countries that do not pay taxes into the U.S. and stop the tax breaks that are given to these companies that are outsourcing.”

Think Progress! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

All Democrats can do is attack, smear, attack, smear!

You know why?

Because they can't give us a reason to vote for them.

How can they? What do they have? A stimulus that failed? A healthcare law no one wants?

I mean what positives can they point to as reasons to vote for them.

So, all they can do is attack the Contract with American with the same old fear politics they have used since I was three years old.

They will take your social security. They will take your welfare. They will take the food out of your kids mouths. Blah blah blah.

Don't expect this to get any better. They are going to get more shrill and hysteria, the closer November comes.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

You're not too bright, are you chuckles?

The post merely QUOTES one of the GOP's people as he expresses the same hypocrisy which I point out.

The people YOU blindly support and defend are out sourcing YOUR FELLOW AMERICAN'S JOBS and then want YOU to pay for the costs of doing so.

That's the reality, my dimwitted neocon samuari....the GOP screws you and you defend them for it. IN THEIR OWN WORDS. All Think Progress did was REPORT on the issue.

But the truth was too much for your willfully ignorant mindset, as witnessed by your babbling here....(by the by, the "stimulus" was started by your Lord the Shrub....I daresay your little brain would explode before you criticize him and the very minions that are STILL carrying on that legacy in Congress). So if you got a problem, blame the idiots YOU support...it's their own words.

Laugh that one off, chuckles.

Thank you for proving me right.

You just scream, insults and rave.

You can't give us ONE REASON TO VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS.

What have they done that we should want to vote for them?

What lends to their reelection, tell us?

Obamacare which most of America is against?

The Porkulus, er I mean Stimulus, which just amounted to a bunch of crony payoffs, which my kids, and their kids will be paying off?

What can you give us, what reason to vote for Democrats. I'm still waiting.

I won't hold my breath. Apparently, all you have is, screaming about eeeeeeeeeeeevil Republicans.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

LOL Who was it that took SS? The democrats Then when they didnt have enough to spend decided Grandma should pay taxes on her retirement. Then it still wasnt enough and decided to raise those taxes a second time, Will Al the bore Gore casting the deciding vote. Under panic of losing those funds democrats then blocked the lock box legislation.

The POINT, Charles, was that what I stated was dead on target. But rather than just acknowledge that point, you do the very thing you swear you're not part of....which is the neocon shuffle of ingnoring the details and just hyping the end result. That way, you can NEVER be wrong with such a myopic viewpoint.

That's nothing to laugh at, Chuck...that's just pathetic.

No what happened is I stated that Clintons attempts to stop the GOP take over by calling it the contract ON America Failed.

Actually Chuck, the GOP "takeover" only happened AFTER Clinton left office, because it was under the Shrub that all three branches of gov't was under GOP rule. A little technicality that you overlook with your myopia. Combine that with what I previously stated, and your "point" is just part of a story.

And you responded by pointing out he won his re-election 2 years later. Not quite, as the chronology of the posts shows. I just filled in the blanks that YOU left out, which kind of takes the winds out of your sails.

And ever since you have been covering for the fact that you fucked up.

It's ok you don't have to admit it.

Everyone saw :)

Chuck, grow the fuck up, will ya? The chronology of the post does NOT support your delusion. Damn man, just deal with not being 100% right....it won't kill ya.

That's all this loser has when you prove him wrong is to start calling names.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Oh man, tachiliberal or whatever you call yourself, you are starting to make Jake Starkey look smart and that's pretty bad!

You get the fail whale, pal! While Charles Main and anyone else who tries to debate this moron gets the patience of Job award! ;)

I was talking about real programs to create jobs not the slogan of the party.

Perhaps there is the problem, the inability of the government to do that. See the graph for a refresher on how that's worked out so far.
Governments influence in turning around the economy is always limited.
We are now at or near a 0% Fed interest rate so we can't lower interest rates any further.

We are at historically low tax rates. Lowering rates would have very questionable benefits particular with the the high debt to GDP ratio.

Government spending (stimulus) is the only viable option. It is not a long term solution but it does create jobs and give the economy a chance to recover.

The often touted Republican solution of reducing government spending and cutting taxes will not work. Reduction in government sending reduces employment and consumption. Tax cuts have limited effect on investment when rates are so low.

Historically low? We have one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world!

And if government spending is the only "viable option" then explain why the stimulus failed so badly?

You guys can talk theory economics all day long, but the reality on the ground is why people are laughing at you.

This is as pathetic as the economists saying the recession is already over.

Social Security always was a con. Back then there were some that wanted those funds to do into a lockbox, but FDR wanted that money to spend. He didn't care that someday that ponzi scheme would go bust, he had the money now, and that was all he cared about LIKE ANY OTHER DAMN DEMOCRAT.

When is it going to sink in to the Washington Insiders that the days of spend spend spend, without any consequences are over!

The Republicans are out of power because they betrayed the trust of their conservative base. Hopefully the Democrats will eventually be out of power because their ideas are destructive to unalienable rights, individual liberties, choices, options, opportunities.

The Contract With America as well as the ten point specifics that the Tea Partiers and other like minded conservatives use to evaluate candidates they will or will not support both speak to what the conservative base wants of its leaders. They are no longer satisfied with a GOP that is simply liberal light that will take us down the road to full socialism sooner but is taking us there just the same.

It may be too late for America, and I do believe this initiative may be our last hope. I am hoping there are enough of us who are sensible, educated, and informed enough to reject the "I hate Republicans" rhetoric and get behind the initiative to restore the GOP as the standard bearer for conservative thought and practice. We just might avoid becoming another stagnant and increasingly troubled "Europe" if we can do that.

And if the GOP lets us down again, then it absolutely is time to throw out ALL Democrats and Republicans and start over with new parties.

I disagree that Government spending is the only viable option, especially the type of spending currently being done where the losers are rewarded by taking from the winners. Also, government micromanagement of business through a myriad of regulations certain is stifling growth. There is too much regulation and not enough oversight.

The fiscal liberal side leans toward having the government do more. That hasn't worked out so well. Time will tell if we ever get to see the results of the fiscal conservative side which leans toward having the government do less.

Here are the major flaws in your analogy:

I disagree that Government spending is the only viable option, especially the type of spending currently being done where the losers are rewarded by taking from the winners.

Have you ever heard of corporate welfare? Or do you realize that YOU are picking up the bill whenever a company or corporation out sources to a foreign nation via tax breaks for those companies? That's just for starters, but it's a indicator of how the "winners" didn't quite make it on their own.

Also, government micromanagement of business through a myriad of regulations certain is stifling growth.

We've already seen the effects of deregulation....that led to the S&L scandal, Enron, and the Wall St. debacle that has put us and the world economy in a spin.

Here's the problem with your analogy.

Who says we favor corporate welfare?

But first of all we have to specific on what you are referring to.

Are you talking about tax cuts to corporations, or government bailouts to corporations?

Big difference.

I'm for any tax cut. There is a huge difference between a corporation or a single person keeping more of what they earn, as opposed to the government TAKING that money from someone and giving it to whom they wish.

So, please be more specific.

Exactly right. They moved thousands of factories to China using tax breaks from the "American Jobs Creation Act" and then whine when those missing 3-million manufacturing jobs cause foreclosures and a major recession.
THEN THEY EXPECT SMALL BUSINESSES TO PICK UP THE SLACK!!! LIKE WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BECOME IRAQI STYLE STREET VENDORS HOLDING UP SMELLY FISH ALL DAY.

But all the Democrats can do with tools like you is attack the Contract With America, with your usual fear and smear politics. You can smell the scortched earth from here.

You don't have ANY evidence to back up your screed against the Contract.

No, all you have is the same old playbook Clinton tried against the 1994 Contract with America, AND THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER.

You want to know why? SAME REASON WHY IT'S FAILING NOW. Because Clinton and the Democrats couldn't give any reasons to VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS.

All they could do is try to spread fear and smear.

And like the typical liberal you are, when presented with that point, you just double down and try to turn the fear and smear on me.

ONLY PROBLEM IS, I'M NO MORE AFRAID OF YOU THAN THE REST OF THE TEA PARTY IS AFRAID YOU OR THE DEMOCRATS.

We can't be intimidated and we can't be shut up.

Got news for you Foxy.....the GOP has been screwing over America since the "Reagan Revolution"....and Clinton was just a momentary speed bump. Socialism is NOT the goal of Reaganomics, or an libertarian version of it. Look at Somalia or the old South American gov'ts of Pinochet or Somoza, or Iran under Pahvil if you want to know where this is going....."liberalism" has got NOTHING to do with it.

My post is PROOF that the GOP is NOT interesting in the interest of the working and middle class American...they are interested in the $$$ for the investor class and inherited wealthy...and all that sail with them.

Do you understand what is going on? The GOP is telling YOU that YOU have to pick up the $$ slack for a corporation/company that closes a factory in America, and moves the factory to a foreign country. Then, they want YOU to buy the product here while THEY make a profit.

They are screwing YOU out of a job, genius. But rather than deal with that, you just chuckle some bogus neocon pundit mantras and talking points. Get it together, man.....this is NO laughing matter.

And they would bitch about that! Here in New York City, our billionaire Mayor keeps trying to put the screws to street vendors...because the chain dept. stores complained! As if the vendors were an actual financial competitor.

While Charles Main and anyone else who tries to debate this moron gets the patience of Job award! ;)

Seems all this joker has to offer is following me around and barking neocon nonsense. Notice that he doesn't debate the issue, folks...he just mouths talking points and accusations. Obviously, he has a personal issue with me...whatever that is. So unless our tea bagging samuari can actually debate the issue at hand using fact and logic, I'll just ignore him an let him rant on.

A) I'm a she, you chauvenist.

B) Debating the issue doesn't mean I have to accept your laughable premise. I know that will just blow the minds of you control freaks of liberalism, but YOU DON'T CONTROL WHAT CAN BE DISCUSSED. Yeah, I know that's shocking.

The reason you keep claiming I am not talking about the "issues" is YOU ARE TRYING LIKE HELL TO AVOID TALKING ABOUT THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS ISSUE WHICH IS THE DEMOCRATS!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! No like a typical liberal despot, you are stamping your feet and demanding we ONLY talk about the eeeeeeeeeeeeevil republicans and ONLY ABOUT THOSE EEEEEEEEEEVIL REPUBLICANS.

Why it just isn't "fair" to talk about the Democrats too!!!!!! WAAAAAH!!!!!! :eusa_snooty:

Did you honestly think that was going to work?:lol: How old are you?

Who's paying you to be here, honestly and why didn't they prepare you better for the fact conservatives don't have to just do what you say?

If you wanted that, you better toddle off to DU. Then you won't have to have a tantrum every time something graces your ear that JUST MIGHT BE something other than what you want to hear.

Poor baby!
