A new America

No sane person is.

I have no loyalty to the party its self.

I owe my loyalty to the ideas of democracy and freedom.

The right has been trained to by the failed ideas of corporate scum who want to own this country outright.

Not all corprations are involved but there are enough to make it happen

When the heck are you not loyal to the Democrat party?

Yeah, what Avatar said.

How many homes were lost due to our huge unemployment problem?

You see not only people who took out interest only loans were harmed.

I'm sure there are quite a number of them.

But the main problem is people bought more than they could afford. They bought into the lie that there are no bad times and didn't prepare and plan.

There is also a great lesson here: The bad actions of a few can have huge consequences on society in general. This is why every individual needs to learn his and her duty and do it. And we do have responsibilities in society, despite the lefts efforts to get people to outsource them to the government.

what crap.

Things were fine until the stripped the last vestiges of the glass steagal law

Then tell me what the big R ideas are?

Self government.

Atleast from the part of the Republicans that haven't been corrupted by Progressives.

And what greater idea is there?

This country does self govern.

That is a bullshit line

How on earth can you advocate the nanny state and see how much control they have and claim that we govern ourselves? You don't have the first idea of what self government is.

The American people had a great deal of their wealth distroyed over the past few years by corporate greed and some fools want to reward them yet more for the favor.

See, the problem isnt that a great deal of wealth was destroyed. The problem is that it never existed in the first place.

It's the big lie thats out there. Much of this nation has no clue how to create wealth. It's called: Work, thrift, industry, honesty, etc.

You try to create wealth on any other principles, you may succeed for a time, but eventually nature will correct itself and more people than simply you will suffer.

'Wealth Destroyed'?

Bought my home 15 years ago for $129k. 5 years ago, comparable units sold for $289k. I didn't want to sell then, still had kids at home. My father was living with me too and wasn't well enough for being uprooted. So 3 years later, my father is gone and I've one last kidlet at home, having just graduated college and looking for a job. I put the house on the market for $189.9. Get an offer. After x number of weeks, she wants to renegotiate, I refuse.

So now, house on market in a week or so, $179.9. Has anything been 'destroyed'? My guess is my unit will sell in about 2 months for $168-172. I've been harmed? Yes, my unit will be listed lower than many in the area, I need and want to sell.

Now the 30 somethings that might have bought a like unit for say, $275? Yeah, they would take a beating now, but if they stay? Who knows? Who's choice to pay those prices? Who wouldn't check back dates of sales. Yeah, wished I'd wanted to sell back when, but is $40k approx. a bad investment over 15 years? I don't think so.

Democrats and Republicans, or any other party; who still believe in a united America, that believe in debate with class and compromise, That believe those unfortunate need a hand, that health care isn't a business product but a human right of every American, that we have the right bear arms, and we have the right to honest and fair news, and be allowed, to decide for ourselves with out rush, Keith, Glenn, or reverend wright or many others trying to influence our own ideology, then join me and hopes we can still keep America strong and free through a voice. Let the people who believe in the American Dream and the right to one's religion, stand out and say enough is enough. If you feel this way please respond or message me. Through God all things are possible.

A nice sentiment but I think 'we the people' have to do these things. Faith is personally important but change comes from good people, sensible legislation, and a sense of civic duty to each other. America has loss her values over greed and narcissistic materialism, but materialism is still essential at a certain level for all people not just the haves. When I listen to republicans today, I wonder what the hell happened? The party of Lincoln has lost its moral compass and the democrats are too afraid to speak the truth. Budgetary arguments deprive the working classes, but feed a war machine, tax structure makes the wealthy useless speculators, corporate profit motive moves work overseas just to make more, executives grab the loot and give the finger to the workers who provide the tools for their exorbitant salaries. Faith has to be we are on this ship together for this brief moment, why do the stupid.

"Something is profoundly wrong with the way we live today. For thirty years we have made a virtue out of the pursuit of material self-interest: indeed, this very pursuit now constitutes whatever remains of our sense of collective purpose. We know what things cost but have no idea what they are worth. We no longer ask of a judicial ruling or a legislative act: is it good? Is it fair? Is it just? Is it right? Will it help bring about a better society or a better world? Those used to be the political questions, even if they invited no easy answers. We must learn once again to pose them." Tony Judt 'Ill Fares the Land'

Nah, their signs would have been spelled correctly.......

Uh-huh :eusa_whistle:

Anyone with photoshop can create those.... and, they have. Therefore, your 'evidence' is suspect. That's a fail.

You're right. But if you're contending that out of the thousands that attend protests and demonstrations that absolutely every one of those home made signs were spelled correctly then I would STRONGLY disagree. Even YOU wouldn't believe that, would you?

So my contention is that the photos are accurate and were captured correctly.

Your saying that healthcare isn't a business product but a human right of every American. You are also saying that we have a right to bear arms.

Yes, it is a human right to have healthcare if they choose to pay for it, and not out of my wallet. The government doesn't have the right to mandate it. Just like the government doesn't mandate that every American MUST bear arms. It's my choice to bear arms with my wallet and not yours.
You are a moron. If you pay social security and federal income tax you should have the right to health care. YOU are why I left that fucking useless Idiocracy.
Judiocracy would be a more accurate term.

You are what defines the word murkin.
In 2004 I paid $115,000 in federal income tax.An ambulance ride, 5 minutes to the hospital, cost me $450 and an injection of adenocard and 2 hours of heart monitoring was $9,000.
Fuck the US govt. and all that worship it's system.
Go and pay your 10 grand family health insurance with a 3 grand deductible to the Jews that run that circus and keep waving your flag while your tax dollars vanish overseas.
OH. Same with homeowners. The Jew bankers that own your home require you to carry a policy on that too.......or get out.

Whereas the right have a gun in each hand.... cuz we don't take handouts.

Not until you need one, that is.

Please convince me that those Americans who have become unemployed because of the financial crisis and who needed a "handout" were all liberals.

Please convince me that no conservative/Republican/whateveryouare has never found themselves in situations where because of over-indulgence on credit and about to lose everything have never applied for government assistance.

Please convince me that no conservative/Republican/whateveryouare has always had health insurance and never had to worry about huge medical expenses that could not be paid.

Please convince me that all conservatives/Republicans/whatevers succeed in getting their children into the best schools and therefore are the best educated because they know how to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, by gum, and move out of a depressed area even when they have no money.

But wait, conservatives/Republicans/whatevers always have money: For the best education, the best health care, fine food, fine homes and they live happily ever after because they always have jobs that pay really really well and they know how to manage their money. It's only stupid libs who sit around in worn out recliners drinking beer all day and collecting food stamps and welfare checks while their kids pop out every nine months and run amok in the streets. Do I have that about right?

Funny that most intelligent people of the left and right address the norm or what most do when speaking of others. The flamers or idiots from either side, tend to speak in encompassing terms. You seem to fall in the later category in this instance.

Ironically, I specifically worded it that way in response to her all-inclusive comment "...WE don't take handouts."

I don't ever mind opposing views on major issues, and I'm the first to recognize that people collecting "handouts" need to be better scrutinized for eligibility and need before and during collecting off the government dole. What I object to is the implication that it's only Democrats or "liberals" who take advantage of government umbrella programs. How best to make that point except by example?

I am a voice for Americans those Americans are the ones who have their eyes wide open and not being brainwashed by either the right or the left propaganda. Health care is a human right and as Christians we should help those less off. But like I said in my introduction we will all be judged, I choose compassion and love of my fellow neighbor. America can still be free and a great and Christian Nation. We can still help those less fortunate then ourselves. Yes I represent a voice in America a new Voice one that stands for freedom, humanity, and the American Dream.
We had a guy here a couple weeks ago who claimed to be the voice of God. Now you claim to be the voice of Americans? I predict a short career for you here at USMB.

When the heck are you not loyal to the Democrat party?

I don't know about TM, but the reason I remain loyal is that Democrats historically and consistently care about the common good of ALL Americans. Does it overwhelm in some areas? Yup. But their basic philosophy is that, according to the Constitution, we're all in this together, and the pursuit of happiness shouldn't be made available to only those who can afford it. If you carefully read the basic tenets of the Constitution and the first ten amendments, it really does look like a "Socialist" document, albeit not "Socialist" a' la Marxism. But the "common good" theme is found throughout.

Then we might as well rip up the Constitution, because "self-government" isn't in there. There would be no such thing as the "United" States of America. In a country of 309 million people, everyone governing themselves would result in complete chaos, especially when younger generations are arriving at adulthood unable to place states on a map of the US, but they know who won on American Idol last year.
