Republicans.......Obama really was born in Hawaii. And he really is, legitimately, President of the United States. Again. And the Bureau of Labor Statistics did not make up a fake unemployment rate. And the Congressional Research Service really can find no evidence that cutting taxes on rich people grows the economy. And the polls were not skewed to oversample Democrats. And Nate Silver was not making up fake projections about the election to make Conservatives feel bad. Nate Silver was doing Math. And Climate Change is Real. And rape really does cause pregnancy sometimes. And Evolution is a real. And Benghazi was an attack on us, it was not a scandal by us. And nobody is taking away anyone’s guns. And taxes have not gone up. And the deficit is dropping, actually, and Saddam Hussein did not have Weapons of Mass Destruction, and the moon landing was real, and FEMA is not building concentration camps, and UN Election Observers are not taking over Texas, and moderate reforms on the regulations in the insurance industry in this country are not the same thing as Communism. And if the Republican Party and the Conservative Movement and the Conservative Media are stuck in a vacuum-sealed, door-locked spin cycle of telling each other what makes them feel good, and denying the factual, lived truth of the world, then we are all deprived as a nation of the constructive debate between competing, feasible ideas about real problems. Last night, the Republicans got shellacked. And they had no idea it was coming. And we saw them in real, humiliating time, not believe it even as it was happening to them. And unless they are going to secede, they are going to have to pop the factual bubble they have been so happy living inside if they do not want to get shellacked again. And that will be a painful process for them, I’m sure. But it will be good for the whole country, left, right and center. You guys, we’re counting on you. Wake up. There are real problems in the world. There are real, knowable facts in the world. Let’s accept those, and talk about how we might approach our problems differently. Let’s move on from there.”

You should.

Because if Republicans keep on the path they are on, they will go the way of the Dodo.

I remember when there was no Rush Limbaugh, no FoxNews.

I remember when Republicans used to stand for something real.

In general, Republicans are spoiled brat little babies that have been insulated from reality by their wealth.

They deny the need to recognize reality and are pitching fits over the very idea that they may have to do so.

Their bubble is bursting.

I don't care where he was born. His mother enrolled him in school in Indonesia as a citizen of that country and as Barry Soetoro. Barry Soetoro never changed his name back to Barack Obama, and he registered in schools over here as a foreign student not a citizen of the USA. He told people he was born in Kenya before he ran for President, and his wife told a room full of people her husband was a Kenyan.

Rachel Madcow is a liar. Obama's home country is Kenya:

As a Conservative American with 55 years of life behind me I can assure you that the VAST majority of the Republican Party is NOT wealthy, regardless of what you may THINK. They are hard-working COMMON people swinging hammers, not polo mallets. They have their faults just like you Libs, but for the most part THEY'RE NO DIFFERENT!!

And they don't hate YOU, they hate your political philosophy. We'll see how THAT all plays out in the coming months and years.

Link? And quotes are appropriate when citing someone elses words. Further you are not supposed to copy the whole thing but to quote some and link to it.

As soon as the Democrats agree to be reasonable so will the Republicans. That means if you want more taxes provide cuts. Compromise is NOT just doing what the democrats demand. They have spent 2 years ignoring the House.

Not to be a dick but you see how that entire post is in a quote box?

Dismissing the biased rhetoric preceding this statement, I would say this is a decent place to start. Realizing it takes twop sides to have discourse and two sides to compromise, it cannot be done by just the Democrats or the Republicans.

The president has avowed that he will reach across the aisle and I hope this promise is one that will be kept. Likewise, it is not only prudent but deadly serious that the Republicans return in kind. We have difficult issues facing us now. Only a Washington that is willing to place their party hats under the table can adequately address these issues at the time the country needs them most.

Gloating and chanting promises of party recovery will do no good for anyone now. It's time to come together.
