Local Shelter closed down by bed bugs

A homeless shelter in Kentucky recently closed down due to a bed bug infestation. Although it has been stated in the past that bed bugs are usually not a result of cleanliness, an unkempt environment can make bed bugs difficult to treat and spot. Bed bugs had been almost eliminated from developed countries during the 1950's, however they still thrived in poorer 3rd world countries. However since the 1990's, increased international travel and immigration have allowed bed bugs to slowly make a comeback.
