A history of French Military Victories

 is funny and very true......sad when a country[??] sells itself and its people out for $$$$$$$. maybe we should have kept the lil piss ant country

Ok, let's look at WWI - the Germans march through Switzerland and into French lands, taking a lot of the French by surprise. As a result, they lose plenty of battles.

WWII roll along, France sets up trenches and other assorted weapons along their eastern border. Here comes Hitler, once again through Switzerland and once again takes them by surprise.

Nice touch frenchie....You guys had better PRAY AND PRAY HARD that you don't ever need our help again because it won't be forthcoming.. Sure France and the eurowimps loved us on 9/11 we were down and bloodied.. Lots of love for us when we look hurt and confused.. But when we decide to fight and teach all of the Islamic world that we mean business and they better get their shit together or else, the French and other europussies get weepy and cold feet... We will see in the next couple years what our liberation of Iraq has wrought... Meanwhile get the hell outa our way or suffer the consequences...

Ummm... replace "Switzerland" with "Belgium" and you are right on.

i agree that France has lost many wars. But before wwi they kicked butt, its just they got very unlucky. In wwi THey also kicked butt, they did alittle more fighting than the british, the french were weaker than the germans, but the french managed to hold them off for 3 or so years, and did pretty good. AFter that they did go downhill. They suk now. Just a quick note, in the biginin of wwii the brits were just as bad off as the french, partly the reason they had time to rebuild and defend themselves is because they are an island. if they were connected to the mainland of europe, they might have gone right down the drain like france.

Hey guys, go easy on Frog in Rome. Rather than make him feel bad, let's help him overcome his diasability. A beautiful thing about America is that we do not exclude retarded people. While we are at it, we can get him involved with such programs as drug rehab and such.

First let me state that I never said the french were cowards. That was said in other posts. My real problem was not that France disagreed with us, but their active blocking of our efforts in the UN. Why did France not say, "We do not agree and will not participate" and leave it at that?

Why go on a crusade to convince other nations not to join us?

As you yourself said, its not that you disagree with what Iraq was doing, but the time frame. It is not like France felt Iraq was innocent and the US was picking on them. So why the be so proactive in your UN efforts ?

This is what bothers Americans most.

Sadaam in a jail cell::cough:cough::Oil for Food::cough:cough::

Interrogator: Im sorry what was that Sadaam?

Sadaam: The french you know, oil for "Food"...::makes a gesture with his fingers when quoting the food part::

That and the fact that their population is being overun by Muslims. So as jim says they are pusssies and are afraid of another French Revolution.

EDIT: Damn didnt even look at the date on this bitch!

France is just jealous and it basically wants to keep their arms trade going with Islamic countries.

It just thinks that it is some big shot who can boss everyone around, but truly that title belongs to us :)

Yep!

Obviously 'GOD' does not know that piece of wit has been posted in another place, by Himself!

No prob!

1775-1783: The British crown presents a bill to American settlers who must now pay for their protection. Ungrateful settlers who are
already allergic to taxes go on a rampage and attack tea boxes on a ship; several Americans are wounded in explosions.
Americans win their sole victory in Saratoga when general Burgoyne realizes that Canadian merchants sold him ragweed instead of tea before his departure. Facing a mutiny he decides to surrender.
In the following years Americans will lose most of ther battles due to their lack of discipline and massive desertions. In 1781, 30,000 French soldiers & sailors accept to integrate 11,000 American mascots who
will play music from afar while the French win the Battle of Yorktown.
1812: The American army is crushed trying to invade Canada and abandons annexation plans.
During the 19 the century, several raids are led against Indian women and babies with the US troops achieving some victories, but fail in their effort to ethnically cleanse the Indians. Nevertheless, some sucessful slaughters will lead them to believe that they are mighty and couragous warriors.
1861-1865: Americans win an impressive victory against themselves but it took a while. The Civil War as it comes to be called, will turn out to be the only war Americans ever win. Mind you they beat themselves, but why digress.
1898: The Spanish succeed a master coup and get rid of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines at the expense of the Americans,
leaving them the impression that they won the war. Soon the US discovers that there is no oil there, and that their new possessions are
a wastebasket, more than anything else.
1900-1950: A series of military interventions against banana republics in South America and the Caribbean against people armed with slingshots and spears has a beneficial effect on the American ego.
1918: The Americans arrive just on time to see the victory of the French and the British against the Germans. They then turn around, and try to claim the high ground by sabotaging the peace treaty and stabbing France in the back when it tries to enforce reparations and prevent Germany from rearming, thus setting the stage for WWII.
1941-1945: While as many as 20 million Russians die bleeding the Wermacht to death, the US wait until the Germans are left with the Hitler Youth, a childrens' force comprised of 14 year old soldiers to launch their assault. They are still saying today that they suffered heavy loses at their hands. In the whole Normandy Campaign they suffer less casualties than the French did in the first six months of 1940, and inflict less damage on the Germans, yet this is enough for them to claim they liberated Europe. That claim alone is the biggest piece of historical myth in history.
1950-1953: The US fails to beat North Korea, in 1953 the borders are still roughly what they were three years earlier.
1963-1973: Americans suffer cruelly from the lack of AC and marijuana of a poor quality in Vietnam. When they realize that their soldiers
can be killed in a war they retreat.
1983: The combined aviation, navy and ground troops apply an audacious plan and succeed to beat a bunch of cuban workers armed with shovels in Granada. The celebrations go on for weeks with parades and chants of USA, USA.
1991: Americans align more soldiers than the French or the British combined and succeed in crushing an army of barefoot shiite drafted against their will who are armed with empty rifles and have barely had a thing to eat in months. But even this so-called victory is hollow as it is actually led by the Daguet division from France which leads the charge while American soldiers console themselves by rounding up prisoners that TV crews did not want.

2003: Iraq. Need I go on? I think not.

I know this thing's half a year old, but I can't help myself.

1775-1781: The British, after fighting a war most colonists were against, decided it was their war anyway, and taxed them up to their eyebrows without even so much as a 'by your leave.' The largest problem they had with this was embargoes forcing British brand names and raising taxes only on the colonies without giving the colonies representation in parliment. The acts designed to punish the colonies (intolerable acts) eventually became too much, and the colonies rebelled. While defeated often on the battlefield by a lack of training and inferior numbers, guerilla tactics made the American colonies a morass of sniper horror until a) the French arrived and b) their army was more organized. They still had a few victories before then, including the surprise Christmas Day attack Washington led across the Delaware, and the many victories of colonial naval hero John Paul Jones, who led several raids into coastal towns on the British mainland. Although his ship sank in the North Sea, he did return with the British ship that sank it. In 1781, Gen. Cornwallis surrendered when he found himself trapped between the French fleet and the Colonial army.

1812-1814: The Americans once agian had to drive the British out of their country. Although the British did manage to burn Washington, the capitol city, they were still driven out, and met a horribly defeat when trying to capture the mouth of the Mississippi. America used this bid to try and capture Canada, but the stone fortress of Quebec was in too good of a postion and was too well dug in, so their invasion was halted there.

1861-1865: America shows the rest of the world how to fight a war. The Americans who fought each other in the Civil War (know around here as "The War Between the States" and in the national archives as "The War of the Rebellion") were the hardest fighting soldiers to date. Gettysburg, which wasn't even close to the end of the war, made Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo look like a skirmish. The largest mistake made here was the South's refusal to accept defeat until the entire Confederacy was burning. Reconstruction proved to be the an even bigger mistake, causing even further hatred of "Yankees" for over a century.

1898: The Americans, after suffering some defeats in the war due to the superiority of the Spanish Army's German made, bolt action rifles, upgrade their technology and drive Spain back into what is now Mexico, also claiming many of their other holdings as terms of surrender.

1900-1950: American combat against poorly armed, but drug-crazed natives recieves little attention back home, except for the invention of the Browning .45 caliber, semiautomatic pistol, which was large enough to knock down even the most inoxicated of men.

1918: The Americans come to Europe to break the stalemate just in time to see renewed fervor in the German lines as troops from the eastern front arrived after the peace treaty with Russia was signed. America gave the French and British the manpower to both stop the German advance and give the extra push needed to send them packing.

1941-1945: While millions of poorly equipped Russian soldiers foolishly charge German emplacements for fear of being shot as traitors, the U.S. slowly makes plans to invade, while sending bombers on daytime runs into the heart of Germany and taking on Japan almost single-handedly. With the help of the British and Canadians (back when they were cool), along with some false intelligence sent the Germans' way, America broke the Atlantic wall and the allies were easily able to push the Germans back to Berlin, though the battles, especially the Battle of the Bulge, were hard-fought and bloody right up until the end.

1950-1953: The U.S. posts troops in S. Korea to keep N. Korea in check and S. Korea free of communism. After the Chinese throw 5 divisions at the single marine corps division stationed there, along with what the N. Koreans sent, all hope seemed lost, but the marines managed to hold the Chinese away from the southern shore until the U.S. military, along with the militaries from dozens of other U.N. nations (including France) arrive in force. The U.N. coalition forces pushed the Chinese and N. Koreans back to the original border, then the U.N. and Chinese signed a treaty that bound each side to keep their noses out of Korea.

1965-1973: After suffering an extreme lack of leadership, America as a whole is demoralized when they realize that nobody's trying to win in Vietnam and that soldiers are simply being sent to die. After 8 years of hellish jungle fighting, including gruesome and cruel booby traps and the most horrifying P.O.W. camp anyone had ever heard of, the Americans decide to pull out.

1983: The U.S. forces easily win at Grenada, which is no surprise to them. A few weeks later, nobody cares.

1991: A mainly U.S. force easily pushes the Iraqis out of Kuwait. U.S. armor and aircraft lead the charge (1st armor division was the front line), destroying dozens of tanks and supply vehicles, as well as many major roads used for supply routes. When they're done, the Iraqis begged the U.S. to keep going. 12 years later, we did.

There, done. Now, if one more frog comes on here and actually thinks we'll believe his twisting of how the French actually won all of the U.S.'s wars for them or that we actually lost the war, I swear I will flame broil him to a crispy black mass of charcoal.

This message was really not to "show our french arrogance" ;) , it was only to do a correction : I'm sick of always read on US board, that france is a loser nation, without victories...now you'll see it is wrong.
France won battles. and a lot.
Of course, there is no defeat - or not all - but it is not not the subject. but the important defeats are here too...(Azincourt, Waterloo...)

It is only to do a historic correction, not at all to "show our prestigious past". Be sure of it.
'de bye guys
;)

Yes, yes. And the piece of crap you posted has been making the rounds on the net for at least a year.

If you're going to plagiarize something, try not to be so damn obvious.
