The Atlantic City Pop Festival took place in 1969 on August 1, 2 and 3rd at the Atlantic City race track, two weeks before the better known Woodstock Festival. The festival is often confused with the Atlanta International Pop Festival (1969), which took place over the 1969 Fourth of July weekend.
Attended by some 100,000+ people the festival featured the following performers (partial list):

It seems she was placed in the rotation directly after Mother Earth featuring Tracy Nelson and the crowd wasn't ready to hear her mild act.
- Crosby, Stills & Nash were originally on the lineup but ended up as a no-show, Nash supposedly had polyps on tonsils (but sang at Woodstock two weeks later). The Chambers Brothers were a last-minute substitute.
- Moody Blues were scheduled but weren't there.

FYI, as I recall it cost $7 A DAY to attend, but by the second day, after the crowds has crashed the 15' chain link fences down, it was free.
Whenh Jefferson Airplane was on stage, I'd climbed into the scaffolding over the stage and watched their proformance fifty feet over their heads.
Jan Joplin showed up in a limo flanked by a hells angels escort.
It was a rockin time, folks.
So rocking that a few week later, when two girls asked me to go with them from AC to some cowpasture called Woodstock, I passed on the opportunity thinking it would be nothing worthy of the trip.
Yeah, that's right...I'm the only East Coast hippie you'll ever meet who wasn't at Woodstock.
I was too cool for Woodstock
I've seen The Alman Brother's (Miami 1970) , JGiles Band (1971 Orlando), 3 dog night (Orlando) ZZtop (1972 Miami), Journey (1884 Hawaii) and the best one out of them all for show and not music would be believe it or not, Elton John. (Newark, I think it was 1973.
saw Queen 3 times MS around 75-77 for each of their new releases.....and yea BUCKETHEAD can play.....the guy might look wierd....but the guy is good.....I would have loved to have seen Queen. My favorite albums were "News of the World" and "Jazz".
Only a year after you I saw Led Zeppelin at the Forum in L.A. That was the best concert I'd ever been to until I saw:
The Eagles at Yokohama Marine Stadium in Japan, "Hell Freezes Over" tour, 1993 I think. Three hour show, everyone sang and did their solo stuff. Joe Walsh did Rock Mountain Way. They performed their absolute best, you could tell no one was just going through the motions.
The scariest concert I ever attended was Yngwie Malmsteen, Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo 1996(?). During a solo he did some sort of digital repeating feedback loop that just sounded evil. I thought Satan was gonna' appear!
I like your avitar Harry. At OzzFest 2000, I saw BucketHead sit in with Primus for a song. Only Yngwie has faster fingers!

I saw Queen with Thin Lizzy Opening,LA Forum 76.....became a Lizzy fan after that one...they FUCKING ROCKED the house down....but Queen survived
I saw Pink Floyd at the LA Sports Arena, around 1975. The bummer was Sheriff Gates had everyone searched for drugs and booze....but the good part was it never slowed us down once we were in.
Another fine one was Buffalo Springfield, at the Anaheim Convention Center around 1967.

Harry I am a BIG Thin Lizzy fan from the UK I help run a site dedicated to the memory of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy we are always trying to check out gigs and dates that Thin Lizzy did on their US tours can you give me the date of the gig if possible and the venue if you can remember please Bud?
