A.G. lashes out at the media

And yet the "liberal" press was so quiet about Bush crimes, .

What crimes?

U.S Attorny firings,torture,wars for oil,illeagal wire tapping.

None of those were crimes. By the way it was not illegal wire tapping. There was no illegal torture preformed as no law forbade it until 2009. There was no illegal war either. And last I checked the President of the United States allows US Attorneys to serve at the Presidents pleasure. All of those fired had served their 4 year term and were replaced. Nothing illegal about it. Further the Senate not the House is involved in the process so the House had zero authority to investigate, but they did and they to found nothing illegal.

Wanna try again?

The possible "crime" the Holder might be guilty of is lying to Congress about what he knew and when he knew it. As usual, the coverup gets politicians in more trouble than original offence. Everyone involved in Fast & Furious knew it was going to be a political shit storm once Brewer was killed by a weapon provided to Mexican cartels. Holder is now faced with the unenviable choice of admitting he's either guilty of approving a really idiotic program or admitting that he doesn't know what's going on in his own Department. Either way he should no longer hold his job.

What's ironic is that Holder never should have HELD the job because he faced the same choice over the Marc Rich pardon. Back then he chose to pretend ignorance prompted his actions. If that were the case then he never should have been considered as a candidate for AG.

I feel sorry for him. I doubt he would pass a Lie Detector Test, based on his TV performance.

Project Gunrunner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Project Gunrunner is an operation of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intended to stem the flow of firearms into Mexico, in an attempt to deprive the Mexican drug cartels of weapons.[1]

In early 2011, the operation became controversial when it was revealed that Operation Fast and Furious and other probes under Project Gunrunner had allowed guns to "walk" into the hands of Mexican drug cartels since as early as 2006

History

The ATF began Project Gunrunner as a pilot project in Laredo, Texas, in 2005 and expanded it as a national initiative in 2006. Project Gunrunner is also part of the Department of Justice’s broader Southwest Border Initiative, which seeks to reduce cross-border drug and firearms trafficking and the high level of violence associated with these activities on both sides of the border.[4]

Its a Bush Program you fools

Pretty silly, you trolling and spamming the Boards, calling the rest of us fools, ..... now finish your strained peas and wash up, remember to get that stuff out of your hair. Hurry up, nap time is closer than you think. :D

Its a Bush Program you fools

Well, not really, TM...

The good folks in the Holder Department of Justice took an existing Bush Program and morphed it into Fast & Furious. In the previous Bush program we were working in conjunction with the Mexican government trying to track guns and arrest those that brought them across the border. That program was halted however because they discovered that they couldn't track the guns properly and were losing them.

The major difference between what the Bush program did and what the Holder program did (I'd call it the Obama program but I think Barack is denying he even knows we HAVE a Justice Department at this point, let alone a Fast & Furious program) is that Holder's Crew didn't work with the Mexican authorities at all. The Mexicans weren't even TOLD that we were selling thousands of weapons that would be coming their way. Sorry, TM but Fast & Furious is Eric Holder's baby...not W's.

Too many big words Oldstyle, to get through. Good try though. ;)

Except for the fact that A) the Mexican Government was involved in the original guns crossing borders program, which failed because the Mexicans admitted they couldn't track said weapons. So the program of allowing guns to be bought in the US was HALTED. After only a few hundred guns were sold.

B) the original program was KNOWN about at all levels of the proper Government Agencies, including the Attorney General.

C) Fast and Furious was conceived and started in 2009 with no notification or cooperation of the Mexican Government. Further if we are to take Holders word for it, with NO knowledge of the AG or the Justice department or High level ATF personnel. Further the program had absolutely no system to track the weapons neither in the US or Mexico. A 10 year old would know no arrests could come out of a program that had no method to track the weapons.

D) The ATF, after creating a program to force US sellers to sell weapons to people not allowed to buy them ( and they did just that) and no method to track them or make arrests, then tried to use the existence of the weapons THEY allowed into Mexico as a reason to make new restrictive gun laws claiming we had a problem with gun sales in Arizona, gun sales they ordered to be made. Further they lied about the percentage of guns that were American seized in Mexico.

ATF Project Gunrunner has a stated official objective to stop the sale and export of guns from the United States into Mexico in order to deny Mexican drug cartels the firearms considered "tools of the trade".[20] However, since 2006 under Operation Fast and Furious, Operation Wide Receiver and others, it did the opposite by permitting, encouraging and facilitating 'straw purchase' firearm sales to traffickers, and allowing the guns to 'walk' and be transported to Mexico. This has resulted in the death of US border agent Brian Terry and considerable controversy.[

Ok. Lets assume you are not a liar, shall we? Fast and Furious was started in 2009. If your article claims otherwise they are wrong. Check your facts, You have been told of this several times now. Under Bush less then 500 weapons went to Mexico and the program was STOPPED because the Mexican Government could not track the weapons.

Prove us all wrong TM.

The sad thing, TM is that your folks that were running the DOJ who thought that they could push more stringent gun control laws by showing guns were going from US gunshops to crime groups in Mexico never considered the "collateral damage" that their little stunt could cause. They were so intent on showing the dangers of the second article of the Bill of Rights that they didn't care who got hurt doing so.

Only now that they've realized how badly this makes them look, they're trying to deny responsibility.
